Workout Creator Fix

Is anybody aware of the editing issues on WorkoutCreator.
It is very prickly at times. Two issues i have consistently are:

  1. When i type the letter E in the workout descriptions…i get emoji options. I have to make it a capital, or run dictation.
  2. I i don’t enter a snippet absolutely perfect, i can end up with a 1 second interval. Over a 1 hour session, its then impossible to select and delete it.

Something that would be good is to have TR create a larger bank of snippets. Creating a 30 on and 30 off segment on WC takes ages, so creating a repeat function like on garmin would take away the pain. e.g. enter time for on, then time for off, then power %'s for each, then a repeat option.

Thanks

Hey there,

The Workout Creator is admittedly a bit old and could use some love…

We appreciate the feedback – I’ll pass your suggestions along to the rest of the team!

Is there a link available to the workout creator that can be shared?

Thanks

Yes, this link should help you out!

I don’t know if you have or even need a garmin head unit, but I’ve been making my workouts in the Garmin Connect app and save them there. I’m pretty sure you could somehow import it into TR, but I’ve been just using my head unit.

See my post on the fix for this (at least on a mac) PSA: Fix for Emoticon & Dictation issues with Workout Creator on the Mac

The fix for this is to select the interval before the 1 second interval, and use the arrow keys to move to the 1 second interval. Once you’re on the 1 second interval, you should be able to delete it.

It is a bit awkward sometimes. The solution I found to this on Windows is to select the first interval in the section I want to repeat, hold the Ctrl key, arrow across to select the last interval in that section (they turn green, as pictured below), & press the “REPEAT SELECTION” button at the top right of the centre pane. Tip: include the rest period afterwards too.

FYI: You can create your own custom workout snippets by highlighting intervals, and then selecting “Add Snippet” along the bottom. And then you can drag any of these snippets into a workout. See the below screenshot which highlights some of the custom snippets I’ve created
