Hi,
I’m not sure if this is a bug, or expected behaviour, but I thought I’d raise here first to see what others think and if it’s just me looking at it wrong:
The issues relates to my threshold PL adjustments with AIFTP thrown into the mix. Here’s the order of relevant events/observations:
- 10th Apr: Completed Mount Regan a 3.8 threshold workout. FTP 270. Workout summary screen reports a threshold PL adj. 2.8 → 3.8 (+1.0)
- 17th Apr: Completed Sheep Mountain, a 4.0 threshold workout. FTP 270. Workout summary screen reports a threshold PL adj. 3.8 → 4.0 (+0.2)
- 17th Apr: An AIFTP calculation is offered post workout, which I accept. It tells me my new FTP is 279 (woohoo), and adjust my levels down, specifically threshold PL is now 2.3 (if I remember correctly from the AIFTP screen that explains the down adjustments).
- 17th Apr, some time after above step, I look at my PL on the Career page and my threshold PL is 4.0. When I hover over it is says Threshold 2.3 → 4.0 (+1.7).
On the surface it appears though my PL has been calculated by adding the tonight’s workout to the PL calculated by AIFTP, which doesn’t seem correct since the workout was done at the lower FTP prior to AIFTP calculation? Surely my threshold PL should be 2.3 or 2.5 depending on the order the PL adjustments are applied.
Just to labour my point in case I’ve not explained it too well, given the above order of events the process appears to be:
10th Apr: 2.8 to 3.8 (+1.0) for Mount Regan
17th Apr: 3.8 to 2.3 (-1.5) for AIFTP
17th Apr: 2.3 to 4.0 to for Sheep Mountain
Should it be:
10th Apr: 2.8 to 3.8 (+1.0) for Mount Regan
17th Apr: 3.8 to 4.0 (+0.2) for Sheep Mountain
17th Apr: 4.0 to 2.5 (-1.5) for AIFTP
Here’s some pics of the above also:
Apologies if I dragged that out longer than necessary, I just wanted to be as clear as I could.
