Is there an analysis feature for workout adherence? I’ve been pushing more workouts outside lately and I’m curious to see how much worse they are than completing inside on ERG. Time in zone and lap average are nice but I’m wondering if there’s a kind of score or percentage specifically related to time in zone for each interval?
Hi, I just quoted you over on the thread Idea /Improvement Outside Workout Quality Score .
In the meantime, if you look at the completed workout on the web browser, you can click on each interval, & its profile is shown with some basic data at the top…
A good rule of thumb is to look at NP & AP/Prescibed-AP. In this case: 237 NP, 238 AP, 235 prescribed AP. If they’re within a few watts of each other you can probably call the interval a pass.
Scroll down further & you see the stats for time in each zone for that interval.
By default this table shows data for the entire workout, but when you select an interval or an area in the timeline the table shows the data from what is selected.
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
What is “Power”?
I would love to see TR launch an “as completed” workout level feature. I realize this is a huge task they have been working on for years for outdoor rides, but can’t they just run the completed power file through the Workout Creator algorithm for indoor rides? I use the workout creator frequently to analyze rides I have adjusted.
Outdoor ride? Pushed to Zwift?
I did just see that some workouts pushed to Zwift have the green target line but some don’t. Interesting.
And none of them show the prescribed power for interval. I guess someone would have to refer to the original workout. 'Tis a bit clunky that way.
What I do is just divide my time in zone by the total interval time and call that my percentage. So if you spend 15 min in zone out of a 20 min interval, that’s 75 %. If you want something more “official,” apps like TrainerRoad or TrainingPeaks give you a TSS or IF score that’s similar
Pushed to Garmin.
I’ve been mulling over this thread and feel
I should refer myself to my own posts on discouraging obsessing over whether a workout was “good enough” .
Essentially outdoor workouts are like indoor where you’ve struggled, except you’ve struggled because of traffic. Or terrain.
All good. Clarity & completion are important when it comes to improvement ideas.
Because I have neither Zwift nor a compatible head unit, I only come across the situation where workouts don’t display the prescribed power for an interval when I’ve done it from memory or by using a cue sheet taped to the stem.
I’m probably not the best to advise re workouts completed outside the app.
