Windows App Broken?

About the time that the new AI training released, my windows app stopped working. Career, calendar, Train Now, Workouts, and Training Plans tabs all just show the spinning loading circle. Devices and Account tabs will display though.

Today I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No joy.

Anyone else?

I was prompted to update the windows and mobile app after the recent AI launch. Have you installed the update?

I assume by reinstalling, you downloaded the new installer from the website rather than reinstalling from the launch file you already had downloaded from the previous version?

In any case, I’d expect it would have prompted an update.

My windows app also didn’t update on is own nicely - I had to go an get the new installer from the website.

I had the same problem and found it was my VPN blocking it from working.

Have you been able to resolve this? What app version are you on?

I agree that downloading the newest version of TR directly from our download page could be a good idea.

Is there a difference between visiting the TR website, and downloading the TR app for windows?

I did download the latest file for reinstallation.
I never got a prompt to update.

As of today it has resumed functioning.

Interesting. I’ve been using a VPN for the last few months since I’m overseas for a bit. Wasn’t an issue until the recent big update.

It seems to be working now though, even with the VPN still enabled.

I have been using a VPN for years. The new update will not work with it. My VPN people are looking at it. No word back yet. The app works fine without the VPN on.

I’m not sure what you mean exactly.

The web-based TR is the best place for working on your calendar or career, but you can’t run the workout player there. You need the app for that. :+1:

I guess what I mean is this: I can go to the website www.trainerroad.com and log in and I see what I think are all of the same things I see in the app: Career, Calendar, Workouts, etc. But in the link you included above there is a section for Windows with a link for a ‘Direct Download.

What is the difference between going to the website and doing the ‘Direct Download’ for Windows?

The link I provided is just our page for downloading the app..

Again, logging in online at trainerroad.com/login is probably the best place to manage your account (though you can do pretty much everything in the app as well), so I’d recommend using the web when you can.

The app is great too, and is the only way to run workouts.

Then what is this?

Is this just what allows you to do the workouts on a PC?

Yes

Everything else you can do on the web
