Why red days in my planned training?

Why am I having red days when I’m following the plan exactly as recommended? The plan is to increase stamina for 3 months. The only thing I changed was shifting the days by 2 days overall, so the plan itself is exactly the same.

That does look really strange - it looks as though the AI is out of sync with the yellow/red fatigue management system?

On the one hand the AI in increasing the length of your sessions from 1:15 to 1.45 but then the fatigue management is saying it’s too much?

I’ve seen this if you the FTP setting is too low - are you using a detected value or a manual one? Does your current FTP seem correct to you?

Also have you given TR a decent amount of recent training history to work with?

Maybe contact support but in the meantime I’d turn off automatic fatigue management adjustments so your training is interrupted…

I have a feeling that its something to do with this 24% FTP increase you are expecting?

I think your current FTP is set too low - if you were to manually put in that 176w value now those yellow and red days would disappear.

This situation will sort itself out once you are using a realistic FTP as the fatigue management is based on a traditional TSS approach which relies on FTP

No, I didn’t set an FTP manually. My last FTP test with Zwift 4 weeks ago was at 160 before i started with TR. TR then gave me an FTP of 142 based on the transmitted data, which I accepted. Should I use 160 instead?

Can you do the Tuesday endurance workouts on Wednesday instead? Try shifting them if so.

That 142w value seems far too conservative.

I think you doing the right thing accepting the detected FTP has caused this unfortunately.

Your options are to either turn off fatigue management at least until your next detection, or manually increasing your FTP.

The only downside of using a manual FTP is that you will loose the predicted FTP (because it only works if you use an AIFTP detection).

I’d say that you would be safe using a manual FTP up to 178w and the system will be able to give you the correct level workouts - but 160w would probably be the safest option.

No, I don’t have time to cycle on Wednesdays.

I think that’s how I’ll do it.

Will I get a predicted FTP again then?

If you accept your next FTP detection when it’s available you will then be able to view your next FTP prediction.

That looks better.

What did you do to get rid of those red days? :eyes:

I manually set my FTP to 160. The AI detection was was obviously too conservative (FTP Test on Zwift 4 weeks ago was 160).
