What's the ultimate small saddle bag?

I too was looking for the smallest option possible and settled on the Most saddle bag above. Fits:
TPU tube, 1 CO2, small chain breaker, & Crank Brothers Multi 10 tool, credit card.

I just got a Skingrowsback bag. They make a Nano thats pretty damn small if thats what your looking for. Seems well made. I like the different colored straps you can get for vanity :stuck_out_tongue:

I use this on my MTB and gravel bikes and it’s fanatstic.

But for road bikes I think you’ll struggle to use that pump to get a good pressure into the tyres. Above 50 is tough. Might be enough to get home if you’re using road tubeless.

I literally had this happen on the weekend. I’ve been carrying the EDC pump on all my mountain bike and road rides. I got a puncture, the sealant worked but I wanted to top up the air with the pump. I couldn’t add any. I measured the pressure when I got home and it was at about 60 PSI. I just ordered the Lezyne Pocket Drive to be my new road bike pump.

Morimono is excellent. Guy in Japan makes them. Rides of Japan has some good videos on them

I’m waiting… hopefully he makes some available soon

i have had one now for a few months along with a coworking5. i’ve used both roadside and they served their purpose well enough that i’d buy the kit again if i needed it.

downside: the magnetic bits are fairly strong but still require you pay attention so you don’t drop them into the grass/gravel abyss.

its a pretty small bag. Smaller than much of whats on the market right now, though I think they have two version so be careful.

Received the small silca and did a test run on my first century yesterday with my mosaic gt-1.

In the small I was able to fit: tublito tube, topeak mini pt-30 multi tool, 2 tire levers, spare sram derailleur battery, dyna plug tube.

It was very very tight, but it fit. I rarely ever need to access anything during ride, so I think it’ll be fine. I might try the large for ease of space and see if tightened it compresses similar to a small. The small just looks so much cleaner. In the large I have all the same things, plus a few co2’s, which I don’t need on the Mosaic with the frame pump.

Hi. I have the Orucase HC and love it, I have a similar opinion about the Voile strap. I bought an aftermarket strap to replace it. Total win.

Small and cheap!

I bought the racelite wrap based on this thread and I love it. Thank you!

If the KMC mini chain breaker doesn’t work, perhaps

Quoted as 18g just for the cutter itself; works with 12 speed chains.

This is assuming your other tools enable two anchors for the chain tool - otherwise you’re going to end up just adding weight.

Pretty much a straight copy of the Topeak Elementa but with a better strap (if you feel bad, perhaps you’ll feel less bad knowing that Topeak have stolen the Feza Cage design from Carbonworks and are patent trolling them so they deserve to be ripped off).

~40g

Have always had good luck with rockbros product. China Panda just did a feature with them and they genially are cyclists that think of good products for cyclists. I have one of their big bags and used it for Unbound and worked flawless.

I use the Timbuk2 Bicycle Seat Pack, but at one point they had three sizes of them. I think I collected all of the sizes. :man_facepalming:

I also got an Italian Swiss Army Tool from Silca that came in a zippered pack, and stick it in my jersey pocket. It’s kinda large though, and discontinued.

There was a Bontrager, as I rememebr, that came with a seat rail clip for the bag so it could be changed from one to another bike, and also taken inside, or off bike at the finish. It was largish, but it fit rather well, with the potential for leg rubbing (really infrequent, but it was a big bag)

I have a Manhattan Cartage seat bag as well, good stuff!. The Cervelo came with a top tube bag, nice touch. Manhattan Cartage also made a very nice top tube bag too, as well as a handlebar bag that’s big and has the tie down to keep it from flapping around, but it’s decidedly not aero… I still have some ancient and not so ancient fanny packs, and use them from time to time. Not known to be aerodynamic either.

Big fan of Orucase saddle bag. I chose it because of the Voile strap and absolutely love it. I actually have them in both sizes. I fit a butyl tube, 2x levers, multi tool in the small bag. Bought them during the Covid lockdown and haven’t had any issues with them.

Will never go back to velcro strap ever again - after a previous saddle bag’s loose velcro strap wore a hole in my expensive De Soto bib shorts in just a couple of hours.

And after the Velcro stops working. I’ve tossed gloves, bags, straps, all because the damned Velcro just stopped working, and it’s damned near impossible to replace it.

My goal with seat packs is to carry just the absolute minimum and make it as invisible as possible.
Was a huge fan of the Small Fizik ICS bag with the clip system that fits Fizik saddles. Super clean with no straps. I’m talking about the SECOND generation Small bag that tucked in completely under the saddle rather than the first one that had an angled clip that stuck way out.

Unfortunately, they discontinued that bag. I kept my last one after it gave up the ghost in the zipper. I took the ICS plastic clip part and bolted it to the Topeak Elementa and removed the straps. It is even cleaner and tighter under the saddle than the Fizik one. Unless you look close you may not even notice there is a bag.

It fits an ultralight tube, quarter, minitool with 3,4,5 hex and Phillips, 2 slim tire levers, contact lens, tire boot and CR2032 battery. I don’t carry CO2 so there is nothing in those holders. I prefer the iPump. Tiny enough that it fits in a jersey pocket without sticking out.

Again, this is bare minimum survival gear.
