Looks good to me! Well done!!
rainy-day easy endurance, 1 hr 20 min - there was some HR decoupling at the end which is surprising to me, but I didn’t drink anything so maybe that’s it.
Sprint-threshold-sprint*
That first interval was way more difficult than I expected. Guess I should have warmed up more.
Train Now workout. Super-threshold/VO2 5x5. Felt relatively easy, PLs didn’t decay as much as TR thinks. VO2max went up by a watt since last time Garmin graced me with an estimate.
Abbey was in my calendar tonight. I think it went OK I never had to dig deep and I was happier with my cadence at times.
A 90 minutes workout was in my calendar tonight but I wanted to give my self time to wind down before bed (Ive an early start) so I swapped it with Alternates for the hour long Kennedy -2.
I had to dig deep a few times but I was a little bit more satisfied with the cadence (its still too low though)
Oh and I made 2 mistakes, I forgot to put my old broken frame glasses and head band on and didn’t notice until the warm up and I had trapped my self in/ set up the pain corridor.
Fang Mountain +2 - TrainerRoad + 15’ Z2
Last week treshold WO was Keith -2 - TrainerRoad (5.0) had me almost bail out.
Today was a 4.8 after +5W FTP increase (262 to 267) and it felt way easier. Never doubted completion.
I still believe that what I need is to increase TTE.
But it is hard to reject a FTP increase, even touhg I said a would…

Rocher is part of my plan made by Planbuilder. A stretch. When I finished I got AI FTP detection. “Your FTP was 260 and still is 260. 0% increase”. ![]()
What kind of motivation is that? “You did a stretch and almost fell off the bike and gained nothing” ![]()
Did “Truuli -2” today as an opener for tomorrow’s Rad Dirt Fest. I’ve been experimenting with different openers that TR offers (started with Laurel, then Truuli -1, now -2). I think I’ve found the one that suites me the best. Yes, the least intensive and also the shortest. But it finally matches the main requirement for this type of workout - I feel better after it, than I did before. Stoked to push it hard tomorrow!
Presidentials
Custom 3-hour workout between 65-75% FTP. Required some concentration during the last 30-45minutes as HR started to decouple. 5.5% decoupling by the end. Interesting that it started during the easiest interval and makes me wonder if it would have happened if I had done 75% instead of 65%. Also fell behind on carbs a little so that may have contributed. Now off to kiddo soccer.

I usually find that it just starts at 2 hours plus or minus 10 minutes, regardless of effort.
Smith -1 is 5x10-minute intervals that hover very close to your Functional Threshold Power, between 96-102% FTP.
Recoveries between intervals are 3 minutes long.
This was a “train now” workout. It felt fine. For the time being, I have a nice flat safe road that fits these 10-minute intervals perfectly.
4x 5 min VO2max
That went about as well as expected.
Not sure why JOIN gave me 5-min VO2 intervals, even if at 115%, when I’ve not had anything longer than about 2-min over the previous 12 weeks. ![]()
Doing the workout using the head unit instead of the workout player makes the workout more doable. Also using resistance mode instead of ERG for intervals 2-4 helps
(This was 5x4min)
I think I have a burn-out period in my life because I can’t create, I can’t work out, I just want to sleep!
Its maybe the quality (or lack of to be precise) of my Elite Suito and my FTP not being big enough (so a small % change is a lot of watts to me) but I found ERG would bite away at me. So I switched to resistance mode. What was a pretty consistent cadence pre ERG has dropped too and is more of a grind in intervals and I was hoping that would come back after switching to resistance but it hasn’t. Perhaps my old Elite Muin (fluid resistance) was more conducive to a good cadence than the electronic resistance ![]()
