Workout called ‘Rodriguez’ which is ~10-minute tempo or sweet spot intervals for a bit more than an hour (brief rest between intervals). It felt fairly easy. Flat tire on the way home.
I done my work out on the way to work this morning on RPE (used Alternates also to swap it for a shorter one) but ran out time for the 2nd 10mins threshold block and hit congestion, so I VO2maxed up the final hill.
Langille WO
After an AI FTP reduction from 270 to 262, due to (I believe) one week of illness and 2 weeks of holiday, this WO felt pretty good, during second and third interval I also increased a bit the power. I feel the FTP is spot on, honestly better than previous one.
Ended up adding 5 min at 266 and then some Z2 till I had time.
Took a week off after Hoodoo. This is my first VO2 max workout in several weeks and my first post in this thread in a long while. Last month I had worked my PL up to around 8.2, but got to the point where I was unable to complete the workouts. (Anybody else experience this?) So, I was worried that I might not get through this one. Turned out it wasn’t too bad.
My legs hurt just looking at that
Amazing effort!!!
This looks absolutely brutal… What are the workout specifics (interval duration/recovery)? What are you training for to do that effort?
5min @101% (398w), those with a bonus 30sec @160%. Recovery was 4min @50%.
I am working on improving my lactic acid tolerance. This is my weak point due to the fact that I am heavily muscled for a cyclist. On a fitness test, it came out that once I catch LT2, I acidify faster than a ferrari does a hundred. Additionally, I’m aiming to finish the bike next year during the IM in a time of up to 4:10h. Lots of work under and around the threshold.
Bluebell +1 - TrainerRoad
First set and first 3 intervals of second set done at prescribed power ended up with HR reaching 86% of Max.
So upped the intensity to 107% to reach only at the end of last interval of the last set 91% of max HR for one second.
I should have upped it a bit more and then lower in case, but legs felt a bit weak and tomorrow and sunday team rides will be hard.
You ever have one of “those days”?
I went out for a 40 mile ride this morning. My head unit battery died a mile from my house, despite me charging it last night.
After another mile something started creaking horribly on the bottom of the bike. Then I realized I left my phone at home.
Sometimes the universe is trying to tell you something. I went home and did a trainnow ride. Silvertip. It was ok and now I’m off to chase creaking bits on the bike.
