6-week Polarized LV workout #2
Sheep Mountain
and a short recovery run brick after
I can’t get it up. Talking about my HR… like yes it’s threshold… but it’s weird…normally my threshold HR is about 10bpm higher?! But it still felt quite deadly on the legs…so the muscle endurance isn’t there but the engine is… it’s also my first high intensity workout in AGES.
Its 1 in 9 that have side effects. Which times by the amount of people who have had it is actually a large number, and negative stories get more publicity, but the chances are you’re one of the 8 in 9
Brasstown this morning for me to continue the recovery week. Probably take the day off completely tomorrow before the coffee ride I have planned with a friend on Saturday (can’t wait!). Still deciding what to do as my next training block…
Cheers, yeah very lucky to have it nearby. Unfortunately there’s not anything near me that’s long enough for threshold or sweetspot work but can’t have everything I guess .
A little disappointed in myself for back pedaling. That was a mental lapse, not physical. Was thinking about tomorrow’s workout, but should have focused on completing today’s. Need to learn to push through the discomfort.
I was procrastinating this so hard I resorted to washing my water bottles. With soap. And a scrubber. Got properly uncomfortable in that fourth interval, and when I finished AT added this monstrosity to my calendar. Thanks Chad.
Had a Berkshire brick on the calendar but decided to split the run and bike. Got my hour run out of the way this morning. Took the bike outdoor again. Weather’s still pretty good though a pretty big drop in temperature today and wind picked up too. Great to have the extra hour of sunlight.
Another outdoor endurance ride only looking at HR instead of power. Does anyone do this? My outdoor HR:watts are higher than indoor (same PM), am I just excited to be outside?
First hot one in a while. NP only 59% FTP, but finished with a good kick, 1453w for 5s.
Had my ass handed to me by Carpathian Peak +1. I had to quit early (at 1 hour) for work, but that’s an excuse. I would have probably bailed anyway. Or, just dropped the intensity down. I’ve been doing pretty well, but this was tough, tough tough today. I think my nutrition was poor over the last couple days (i’m trying to lose weight). Will rest, and come at it again next week.
More like Tallac +2 with bailing on the last interval. This was a bit much after 2 1/2 weeks of GB-MV, this early in the morning, and after a couple of nights of below average sleep. Likely taking two days off for Easter weekend to rest. Will finish the last workout of the first block (Junction -1) on Monday, then rest week!
First time on Holt Hill, beautiful view. First Covid shot last week took me out for most of the week, followed by a tough week at work this week with soooo many distractions. First time back on the rollers in too long. This will amount to my birthday ride today, but I’ll follow this up with some trail riding, perhaps both weekend days, yard work be dammed…
