Well today I was going to try the Kolie Moore FTP Baseline Test got 13 minutes into the warmup and the TR just shuts down, so I reboot hit fast forward and planned to continue got another 7 minutes in seconds away from the test and you know what happens. So I’m thinking I would just leave my FTP where it at continue the block and find a short workout instead what else could go wrong. well I finished the last two set of Baird -3 spinning at 120/130 rpm as my rear derailleur would only shift between the 23 and 25 .

Black Kaweah +1. Probably one of the hardest workouts I’ve done in a long time. So damn deceptive in its difficulty. This one really showed me how efforts over 90s for me are dramatically harder. That 2 minute bit in the middle was impossible first go, but dropping to 5% for it the second go made it possible to complete the whole set at 100%.
Set a new 1-minute power PR for the season on this one, too, which feels great.
A little sweet spot, some 30/30s @ 135% and two threshold intervals. Was maybe overly cautious on the 2nd threshold and did it on the lower side of the RX’d range as I was concerned about being able to complete another 10 min @ 105%. Hindsight being 20/20, probably could have squeezed a few more watts out of it, but happy with the overall workout.
I’m starting to think my zones are wrong again, this was chill to the point of not really feeling like sweet spot ![]()
Holy shit what a workout! I would not have any chance to pass that ever…
It’s a lovely day here in the UK (well northern England is nice and sunny) so pushed Conness outside - https://www.trainerroad.com/app/career/bobw/rides/106754837-conness-tr-outdoor-workout
I think I might have pressed the lap button accidentally when I shouldn’t have and one of the intervals became very short! That and deciding to head home a slightly longer way as I wasn’t sure how long was left in the workout meant that the last interval finished about five metres short of the top of the last hill and the workout ended less than 200m from home. Not many rides where my stopped time was just 15 seconds in 2 1/2hrs, that was picking my sandals up when I got back to the top of the lane, hit every road crossing when there was no traffic there.
The reported average cadence seems a bit low, I wonder if the unit is including coasting, there was 24mins of that.
One wildlife incident: a cock pheasant (look them up, the only things on the planet with lower intelligence are their predators) that took off in front of me on a descent and proceeded to sit (fly?) about a metre in front of my face for a few seconds!
Washington+2 outside
First time using outside workouts. No powermeter on my road bike so just went by RPE. Weather is pretty great here, so much more pleasant than sweating it out indoors. New bike computer arriving next week so should make it a bit easier. Think I’ll be doing this a lot more frequently in the coming months. Great excuse to pick a new PM too😁
Streak of sweetspot or riding in general?
Looks like you have a great hill for those repeats. Well done.
It’s just a generic workout streak which includes weightlifting, running (or hiking) and cycling. Started as motivation to workout during some long business trips. When covid entered our lives morphed into an entertaining distraction. Many of the days had multiple workouts, but I haven’t tallied them by type.
Will likely end with vaccination unless I’m one of the very lucky guys with no down days after the jab.
