If you started SSB1 on Monday like I did, then that trend might continue for some time
Weâll see if the ramp test just showcases my strengths and is actually reflective of my FTP once we get to some of the longer intensity pieces and I end up dying or not haha
Still in recovery weekâŚtoday was Boarstone. Accidental double gear shift about 1hr 10 minutes into the ride is the crazy cadence bump and power dipâŚmeant to shift just 1 gear
Fang +1 for my first ever erg workout with actual power as I set up my wahoo kickr core today. Loved it, even though it took my brain some time to figure out that I could do all of all the intervals at the same cadence if I wantedâŚ
Thursday should have been Matthes +4, ended up pushing it to today (Friday). I tweaked it a little bit, increased the recovery wattage to 50% instead of 40% and decreased time from 4 min down to 3 min. Between sets was a minute longer and a smidgeon more wattage. Endurance at the end 71% instead of 65%, and 20min instead of 12min. Just little tweaks when I made the workout for BRVR, bit more like Matthes +5 now that I look at that variation. It went reasonably well, though I did slip up in the 8th interval, I think I just wasnât in the zone mentally for it. Kaweah tomorrow, yay.
About a year ago I was around 220. Then I basically didnât train the rest of 2020. I have a race in may so started training again in January. My Jan ramp test was a disaster, dropping close to 70w. So just trying to get it back now.
Consider doing higher power earlier if you can, and if your power falls off towards the end of the interval(s), then you know youâve left it all out there. Probably a little easier than trying to guess at the start how much power youâll be able to in the 5th interval. Sounds like you did a good job though with a 0.99IF
Weekend is long endurance day
First time doing 4h after 2% FTP bump. I did Vogelslang +3 perfectly before. Although itâs just a mere 2% bump the workout felt so much different. Struggling at the end and need to tone down my power target to 93% - 95%.
The unders definitely could stand to come up a few watts. 90% was easy enough for clearance. Or I might manipulate the amount of time spent over. 30 seconds just felt like a nice surge. 60 seconds though on the other hand would be a different beast entirely.
Leconte with an extended warmup this morning. That felt steady - power, HR and cadence wise, expect for the last 5 mins of the final interval where I began to find myself squirming around a bit from the fatigue. Nearing the end of the âworkâ for SSBMV2 nowâŚ
Had Andrews in my calendar today but I must admit I didnât stick to it. I did the ride on the virtual 8bar crit course in Germany and ended up doing a few laps hotter than what Andrewâs had planned for me
Used to be in the TR Library but has gone. When I joined TR, this was my regular Friday workout when not following a plan. When it disappeared recreated it in WorkOut Creator.
