Pettit for me last night. nothing special, but when I look at a similar workout from around 4 months ago when I was relatively new to TR, my power is up 72 watts for a HR increase of only +1.
Even better now, as Pettit -1 is quite a bit easier than the āoriginalā Pettit. ![]()
This was supposed to be +1, but I was gonna extend it anyway and itās the last week of SSB1 before recovery so what the hey, letās pile on some extraĀ Ā sĀ tĀ iĀ mĀ uĀ lĀ uĀ sĀ Ā . Worth a PR up AdZ, and definitely tired by the end. I listened to every possible take on Saganās relegation, and I continue to be sad that itās overshadowing the amazing maneuverability of Caleb Ewan.
As my TR training plan is coming to a close in three weeks, I thought it would quite interesting to translate my training data into something visual. A simple way to access all of those numbers.
Going to try and plot it out for the duration of the TR plan. Week by week, culminating in total time in zones for both power and heart rate.
Itās a work in progress but, I can see it taking shape nicely ![]()

What it actually looks like ![]()
Zwift Riders Germany Gruppenfahrt (D)
What started as a nice steady ride went a little bit south. Ride leader booted out, he rejoined and ended up going opposite way with another group. Zwift issues seemed to be affecting lots of us on the France map last night.
Anyway settled into a group for a 2.0-2.5kg ride⦠2.5kg was minimum and slowly crept up throughout the 90 minute session. Also had a Zwift drop out myself that doesnāt show on TR graph, it was around the hour and had to push a 3 minute effort to catch my blob back up again. That does show up on graph! Thank goodness for TR VO2 max training along with a good base
Good enjoyable ride though did more than I wanted too.

Iām in week 2 of sustained power build high volume. Iām new to TR, Iāve completed half distance HV base, and the first 2 weeks of half distance HV build and after suffering a running injury Iāve ditched the tri plan to focus on cycling - really enjoying how fresh my legs feel without running, lets me do double days on the bike almost everyday. So glad to be out of base phase plan, the sweet spot workouts were boring me to death, but I do see their value considering they are right around 70.3 race pace.
Kosciuszko +2 was on the plan but that scared the crap out of me so went for a slightly easier 5 x 6 minute 105% threshold workout. Last interval was character building
I had to lower the power on this one last week, so Iām taking a second stab at it tomorrow. Hoping to get through it as prescribed to work on that suprathreshold stuff myself. I consider it one of my current weaknesses as well. Big kudos for knocking it out so well!
Thanks. I use iPad so that answers why I donāt see it.
@PusherMan ā that is SO COOL! Itās like finding the beauty in the suffering. Really amazing.
Cloudās Rest +3: 30/30s @ 130%
Iām in an experimental phase right now. By backpedaling 15-20s of each 30s recovery valley, Iām able to go harder in the work intervals. By the last set I was hitting them at 150% FTP (450w) and couldāve gone higher.
I plan on trying a similar approach with Ansel Adams.

Back at it with CX specialty HV this week. Always a smart idea to end recovery week with a 277tss century ride. Bumped my ftp up to 295 from 290 after my success with short power build HV, even though I bailed on two ramp tests at 260w lol
Anyhow finished this today, last interval was tough but powered through with no cracking. Extra bonus that my basement is about to get a lot cooler after today so rpe will get easier as I progress
