What workout did you do today? (2018/2019)

Would have been a better easier week without a head cold.

Did my last workout of SSB LV 1, Pettit, a one hour long but relaxing endurance ride.

I am really happy with myself, I didn’t expect my first structured training to go so smooth.

Looking forward to complete my second Ramp Test on Tuesday and SSB LV II which will end with Disaster for me on 21st of December.

Baxter - I was too lazy to get dressed up to go out into the cold.

Couple of hours zone 2 instead of Geiger +2. Quite cold by the end but a nice ride.

Wright Peak -2 plus 1 hour of endurance.
Basically three hours of pedalling in circles, breathing with my belly and watching tv shows, I loved it!

That about 1.5 hrs more than my brain, my body and my rear end can collectively tolerate. Count me as impressed.

Tried my first ride on a smart trainer H3 yesterday and not convinced with power match and my PowerTap P1 pedals that said a ramp test might not have been the wisest idea… Will switch back to old wheel on trainer for ramp test on Tuesday. Completed SSBLV1 with Brasstown as penance for a failed test. 2 hour 15 min outside ride today.

Pettit +1 after a hard Zwift session yesterday. Tomorrow is Wright’s Peak as I continue my push toward 3x30 minutes of sweetspot. Feeling pretty tired/fatigued today so I’m looking forward to my rest days Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gave the trainer bike a nice little cleaning and refresh, including new bar tape and a new trainer tire. What better way to celebrate than 150 minutes of Ochoco?

Coming down with a cold (head congestion and sore throat, no cough or lungs yet) so replaced Monadnock +3 with Moose’s Tooth -1. Dialed it back to something easier given I haven’t slept well with the congestion the past two nights

Had a bunch of connection drops to the trainer which messed up some of the intervals a bit, but I think I stayed within range for the overall goals.

Coming up on another manual FTP increase at the end of this week - completing over/unders (even relatively easy ones like these) without approaching failure is a good sign

Tunnabora. Had a bit of a fight between TR and Zwift at the start, ditched Zwift, went on with my life. Went pretty well, including the cadence drills. Compared with last January, pushing more watts, at way lower HR.

Looking at your HR you will have nice FTP bump on a ramp test

Geiger today. Felt ok, no problems - smooth and pleasant like all SS workouts. The next workout will be ebbets (first VO2 max with new ftp, my VO2 max is non-existent) and then real challenge - Kaveah. Workout that looks like a thing that separate real cyclist from real cyclist that have the problem with long threshold intervals;)

Just didn’t feel like I could do three 20 minute SS intervals, especially on ADZ as I knew last one would be “down hill”, so decided to up rest interval power and try for similar TSS over shorter duration.

Did some fun sprints at end, note to self…must get back on plan, try harder tomorrow!

I anteloped and it went well… it did get harder gradually… i thought it was so easy on the first interval, boy was i wrong. Especially a day after doing McAdie

Ha! It’s funny how those last intervals really have a way of being tough!

I did Neeham -1 this morning. Doing a mini base phase and wanting to increase my time at sweet spot. Spending 48 mins at sweetspot with spikes was very very tough!

Really felt the fatigue in the second interval. Doing a third 30-min one is going to be a challenge, but I’m up to it. More than anything, I just felt like I was getting bored, even with watching TV while spinning.
