What workout did you do today? (2018/2019)

Bashful - 3x5x1min. I’m ok with VO2 intervals - as long as they don’t stretch longer than 1’30" or something. Could have done these all day, almost.

Sort of the beginning of Dade +1 outside, without a power meter:

Dade +1 has 2.5-minute intervals, which almost works for the hill near my house. I only had time to do the first set. Underestimated my “rest” loop and probably got too much recovery in between intervals, but I think it could work with some tweaking.

Couldn’t find any masking tape but my skin’s pretty pasty, so:

Carpathian Peak. This was supposed to be for tomorrow, but felt fresh and eager to ride, so did it today instead.

First set felt easy, and I was feeling pretty confident. And each of the next two sets were harder than the last. The last half of the last set got proper hard, and I started mentally breaking it down into smaller chunks, and just focused on short bits at a time. I kept thinking that since I was almost done it was supposed to start feeling easier, since I could see the finish line. But nope, hard right up to the end.

Average sleep so I went to one of my go to sessions knowing I could get it done easily. 4x30min sweet spot. Very fun as always.

Galena +1 … 3x20min at 95% … :scream::scream:

For some reason, I tinkered with Chad’s order in GBMV week 7 and shifted this to the Thursday workout, so this came after Ansel Adams +4 and sprints in Bays yesterday. Made it through two intervals, and felt totally cooked for the third. Made it through three two-minute segments and then called it, total of 49 min (incl warmup) at 95% over the course of a little over an hour.

Normally I’d be upset, but THIS is my limiter right now. So, what I’m more upset about is the fact that I moved the workout to the third consecutive day of work instead of coming in after a rest day. Dumb move, coach.

Live and learn… my legs are cooooooked.

Huxley +1 . First set felt like death, the remaining sets I felt great like I could do it all day. Funny how the body works like this, just gotta push through.
Been having some (for me) monster weeks with 250-400TSS outside rides every day, when TR suggest 600 a week, most definitely didn’t gain fitness even if I recovered well and nutrition was on point, but had a lot of fun. Now back to the program

First interval or set always feels the worst!

Today I turned 42. Today I did nothing except enjoy a cuppa in bed and open a few very thoughtful and generous birthday cards and presents.

TSS and IF combined = 0

She really dishes out the pain, but we got along just fine.

I have to do this tomorrow and I was searching feedback on it. I was done today from Tues and Thursday ride. Managed only 30 mins in endurance work. Called it a day to ensure I can complete tomorrow.

Hello, I did today mtb uphill test. Result is 330W @ 44mins, KOM with 7mins to second… So I changed my FTP to that value  Maybe 225-227 would be more accurate…

(Yesterday) Townsend -1 instead of Mount Baldy +1.

I imagined my hamstrings atrophying with every pedal stroke. I think I’m going to move the trainer into the living room where it’s cool, maybe be able to handle more than zone 2.

Update: I moved the trainer into the living room, stuck it right under the cooling unit, pointed a fan directly at my face, and tried Mount Baldy +1:

So that’s the first threshold workout I’ve finished successfully since the end of June.

Kaiser +4… 6x3’ at 122%. Started feeling froggy prior to the third interval and punched it up to 102%… and then back to 100% after the fourth. Five and six were sheer survival. In the words of Ralph Wiggum, “Feels like BURNING!”
