Argh. App crashed 1/2 way through tonight’s workout, and after trying to restart a number of times, I decided someone was telling me something.
My tweaked version of The Priest.
Slow, high force openers to begin, then steady power at natural cadence, followed by a short, quick spin sprint. Still working on my cadence.
Heart rate monitor died again. Either that or I become pro/superhuman after 45 minutes
This session actually scares me a little
Woah Mallory was an event. Can you spot where I got cramp?
I’m surprised just how short the duration of recovery is in a few of these without manually adding more!
1st work out of SSBLV2 Ebbetts, enjoyed this one. Found it difficult to quickly get the power up and just ended up using leg speed (you can see the cadence surges in my graph) so it was really hard to measure the effort accurately.
Endurance would scare me with your FTP!
I’ve had this on my shortlist for a while now. It’s quite a beast.
Fang Mountain +1, week 2 of General Build low volume. Went surprisingly well. Either I’m getting better or it’s an easier one, but over/unders seem to get by without drama now.
did the same workout today as well for sustained power build. finally getting the hang of OU after 2 phases.
on week 4 of SSB2 HV, so lots of volume, especially since I shifted my weekend days so I’ve ridden every day since Sunday, so 629TSS this week. CTL is up to 90 TSB is -14, feeling good.
For whatever reason, I’ve found the “ramp” O/Us easier than the block O/Us (like McAdie +1). Not sure why, but maybe just a by-product of erg mode allowing you to ease into the effort on one, but forcing a “stomp” on the other. Dunno.
Reinstein-2 this morning.
The first two sets were a real slog and I considered calling it a day. Then my heart rate monitor packed up, again, and I just thought, let’s see what the next two minutes feel like. The third set was a relative breeze.
Does anybody know why my heart rate monitor keeps failing around the 45 minute mark? It’s washed and dried regularly and it’s reasonably new.
/me adds to list of mantras
What model are you using? I had a similar problem with the wahoo tickr.
Hi @rogerchua
I’m using a Garmin Premium Heart Rate Monitor Strap and I connect it/to it via ANT.
Thanks
If it’s still new, I suggest getting it replaced. I tried batteries, resets and all the usual voodoo. Didn’t work for me. It consistently fails after 30 mins.
More electronics work in sweaty cycling kit.
“Honey, what in the world are you doing?” (as you walk outside to see if maybe GPS reception is related to the HR sensor cutouts)
end of week 1 ride SSBLV2 Kaweah. I found this much harder than I had anticipated, but managed to nut through it in the end. Not sure why this felt so hard though, I’ve not ramped up my training and generally feel good.
Avalanche Spire - first time on a bike since 300k last weekend and 400k the weekend before. CV was good but legs heavy and made sure I knew about it. Got the final (600k) qualifier a week tomorrow so it’s going to be one more hard workout on Sunday (2h sweet spot if indoors, or a long steady one outdoors) and then tapering for the weekend.
