Dream ride.
You should had done the 100k option.
An hour of gym this morning, and just finished Lion Rock. Went ok, no probs, I might finally be getting back in to better shape after bad March.
What tires did you use? How were they?
I have 25mm Grand Prix 4000’s and aktiv-8 inner tubes.
So nothing special but they worked fine.
I just started cycling a year ago, so I am not sure if I would notice a difference if I put something else on there haha. The inner one’s held great, 1 puncture in 6500 km.
The timing of the puncture did suck though

Palisade - I survived until the last third of the last set. Just blew up. I’m not even sure who’s the dude who called for back-pedaling in the last below-FTP valley, and even less who decided to just give up in the last FTP+5% interval. Never met these guys before.
First week of FD MV Speciality…Ramp test. Dropped 2%. Maybe the drop out when I had to turn the fan on affected the calculation, but there wasn’t much left in the tank anyway…maybe could have broken even at best. (In aero position anyway)
Brick tomorrow, 4h Bike +1h Run so I’ll take the saved watts actually ![]()
Saturday’s ride, an off day I guess. Felt fine after Darwin on Wednesday but hammys were tight and sore going in, just got more sore as time went on and contemplated bailing after second set, dialed back the last two intervals by 5% and 10% to finish. First time since starting TR last September I haven’t finished the full workout.
juneau -1 for me today, end of week 4 of sustained power build HV, just one more week of work to do on this plan. The basement was a little warmer than usual and I was sweating up a storm so RPE was relatively high, might have been tired from yesterdays 6x12 threshold as well. But we got through it.
unfortunately I missed out on riding outside on two nearly 70 degree days since my wife is out of town and can’t leave my nearly 8 year old at home unsupervised.
Bed +2.
Substitute for Mills, knee was still unhappy about the battle with Palisade yesterday.
baxter. I’m having trouble hitting the power target in a consistent way.
After failing yet another workout, this time sweetspot/threshold workouts (Carter + 3)
I had my first fasted commute ride to work, goal was to stay zone 2… and i was quite successful at it, somewhat. It used to take me 1h to 1h15m to do 23-25km last year, so doing this 28km (w/ a small part of it with a trailer at the back) in 1h17m was nice! I guess training works after all
Ebbett’s. I’ve been dreading VO2 work, but got through this one

My tweaked version of Xalibu. Dialled the 180% efforts back to 160% as I just can’t sprint on the trainer.
I felt this. Every one of those 125% efforts left a little mark. Funny thing is, I know I’ll come back for more.
The mess at the beginning is me calibrating the trainer. I was doing 200+ watts for no effort when I started. Did think about just pushing on ![]()
Added this one to my torture list, eh I mean favorite list.
