Well done. The sub 40 feels so good.
Yeah, sure does.
I remember correctly you are using the climb for determining FTP?
Next goal will be sub 1 hr Ventoux, but I’ll wait until they finally drop the Aethos. ![]()
My last test was on the Alpe, but I honestly could have gone longer, so I have to do everything on Ventoux going forwards
40’ is about the minimum length I shoot for these days. If I crack earlier, I’ve paced it wrong.
Plus Chalet Reynard is about 40-45 mins in anyway so it serves as a good minimum distance point.
Big informal testing results the past week:
`New power PRs from 5-7s in a sprint test.
New power PRs from 4-5min in a solo break in a race.
Then this yesterday:
PRs from 11 to 41 min. So I’ve basically redrawn my entire power profile in the last seven days.
First time I rode for almost 4 hrs in the past 5 months (got a newborn at home)
Did some research in order to add fresh data to my power duration curve and ended up with PR’s from 60-90s.
FTP is trending down around 15w since February, but I got a lot more repeatability and raw power from 30s up to 5-min. You win some, you lose some.
Not a 20‘ PB, but a 20:49 PB (which is absolutely epic😅).
Did a Zwift 10 mile iTT today and finally breached the 21 minute barrier (the Zwift rider isn’t as aero as I‘d like).
/second place also:
Haven’t hit many PRs lately, but was pretty happy with this one because it was unexpected…
The Garmin beeped at me for a segment I’d starred but never ridden, so I mindlessly turned and smashed up a hill that turned out to be quite steep by local standards. Was 1:45:00 into the ride after putting 192TSS into the legs yesterday, so was surprised and happy to knock out 500w for 3:00. Now it’s time to freshen up for the last race of the year next weekend!
