Oh really? I was sure I read a whole trainer road article on how to use outdoor workouts with both the wahoo and Garmin?
Or are you only refering to AT and outdoor workouts?

Yes, outside workouts generally function for both.
BUT, the current implementation of Adaptive Training has a bug that is not allowing TR outside workouts performed on Wahoo to interact with AT correctly. It is shown in a brief mention of the âKnown Issuesâ.
So it âworksâ in the broad sense as it always did before AT, but it is not fully functioning within AT with respect to Progression levels.
Ok thanks. That would explain why I didnât get a survey to complete after the outdoor workout I just did and why progression also wasnât shown.
Do you know if ordinary rides performed outdoors on wahoo count towards progression/AT/train now recommendations eg a group ride?
I have no experience here, just an idea. Would Strava heatmaps work for this? Do they differentiate cyclists from pedestrians? Might be worth looking into.
Probably like a minute slower if I ever decided to do a Deca-Everesting!
Unstructured rides are currently unsupported by AT for progression levels and adaptations regardless of head unit.
Also, if you go to the career page on the web app and scroll to the recent workouts box in the bottom right, you can click the link that says âMissing Surveyâ for your outdoor workouts and fill out the survey that way. It always gives a struggle workout survey though, so scroll to the bottom and choose the option that you didnât struggle and it will give you the pass survey. Despite this, it wonât affect progression levels, but you can at least share the data now for when it does start working.
They do to a point. Despite Belgiumâs reputation for cycling, road cycling in Wallonia is not really up to the standard of Flanders. So all those wonderful images of Liege Bastogne Liege donât give the true picture that cyclists are often forced into using the edge of the road or bad shared paths. Lots of leisure cyclists on mtbs or ebikes use the same routes and of course strava! Komoot isnât too bad for better routes. I want to ride consistently faster but you need to choose your routes carefully. And then there are the cobbles
Thanks. Regarding the survey mine just says âmissing dataâ which if I click on it just opens the ride in another window. If I click the ⌠It gives and option to update survey but the only question it gives is whether I found the workout easy through to very hard and thatâs it. No other questions.
This is the same for workouts I did in my wahoo and indoors with iPad
Sounds like you need to contact Support@TrainerRoad.com for help.
Just got my shipping email.
Consider me very excited!
Same here, original Elemnt. Was considering the Hammerhead Karoo 2, one of the first to put a deposit down last year, but havenât pulled the trigger. The new Bolt looks nice, not sure I want a smaller display than the Elemnt though. Thereâs the Roam, but thatâs been out two years at this point, too.
Iâm in the same boat, original Element (non bolt) and really donât want a smaller screen. My battery life on my Element is starting to go down so Iâll be looking for a new computer in the next year or so.
Yeah exactly the same. Not sure if itâs one of those things you just get used to, like moving to a smaller phone. I heard that because the bolt v2 screen is actually better quality than the roam it kind of cancels out, but hard to tell I guess
I loved my bolt and Roam apart from the navigation. The navigation screen is like an 80s video game and it works ok on the road but on trails it sucks. I wish it had trailforks integration like the garmin but just canât force myself to get a Garmin with all of the software issues I have had in the past.
It was hard for me to go back to garmin, but the 530 has been flawless.
I asked only 2 weeks ago about a new bolt and wahoo said nothing was coming. So I went for the garmin 530 with ÂŁ50 discount instead and loving it.
Wahoo is nearly flawless execution of a the core basics.
Garmin is sometimes flawed with capabilities only limited by developers.
Iâd rather if people commented in the existing threads directly related to that head unit, when possible.
I get that comparisons are helpful, but we have some of those out as well.
Iâm in the âanybody want to buy a v1 boltâ crowd now too.
