Use AI FTP detection for historical data

For me the same. I think before TR my 20min or especially 8min test were really overestimated.I have a good anaerobic capacity FRC and when I was really fresh and motivated outside, I could smash this. 8min FTP was maybe 15 or even 20 watts over my feeled FTP.
This feature would be great to double check.
By they way WKO5 also gave me 10 watts more, if testing really hard.

Yep, that’s it, said more succinctly than I did. I’d like to go back and see what training correlated to changes in FTP and where FTP was for races.

@IvyAudrain As far as features go, I would think TR already has the work done, it’s just surfacing all those grey diamonds, and is something that would get users spending a lot more time on the site and in the app.

but just because something worked well at one point in time doesn’t mean it’ll work the same at a different point in time, different stimulus needs to be dependent on one’s current needs. If TTE is maxed out, do vo2. If TTE is bad, work on that. I think simply focusing on what produces ftp growth will lead to really ineffective training

Really true. But i would still like to see what worked in the past, even if it’s to do something else now.
Even better would be to have an AI advice on what to focus on for a specific goal.

This is a cool idea, and I’ll be sure to reiterate it to the team as a feature request.
In full transparency, I don’t foresee it replacing any current high-priority focuses right now.
Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks @IvyAudrain. Do y’all have a public roadmap?

We do not have a public roadmap currently. Roadmap visibility may ultimately create a lot of athlete confusion and frustration when seeing roadmap items that may change a lot in nature as they’re developed, or as they change in priority. :+1:

This makes more sense than I can even imagine

I’m bumping this to see if it’s something that’s been considered by the TR team. @Nate_Pearson ?

I also think this is a great idea. Retroactive aiftp estimates :flexed_biceps:

There was a mention on a recent podcast that this can be done by the TR team. I can understand not wanting to get flooded with requests, but I’ve got huge gaps where I’d love to see what the TR estimate was.
