A few things. thoughts & issues/confusions
- This seems/feels like a positive move. I was just considering not updating my FTP and letting the harder workouts (higher PLs) work for me over the next few weeks into the TT season, so it is timely.
- I missed the video and only noticed the missing AI FTP sessions on my calandar, causing me to email support. I note that Nate’s video is not showing up on their youtube channel listings.
- So I had to exit TR from my browser and re-enter to get things to appear and work - as others have noted.
- My session today has disappeared and next week’s sessions have all being altered (see image) The workout today was supposed to be Monitor+4. That has disappeared. As you can see from my annotations next week’s have all changed… I have restarted the browser session and re-entered TR twice.
- Not sure why next week’s threshold session has dropped to 4.0 when I just did a 5.4, up from 5.3. Will these get adapted at some point in the near future? Was it because I marked it as hard as I had to do it off the TT bars? … this leads to the next question…
- Ok, question of rating workouts and how this new feature responds. Does TR note how I am rating workouts and adjust how it looks at workouts against my ratings?
- As I am training for long TTs, I generally use ‘moderate’ for a session at SS/Z4/Z5 I complete on the TT bars. (I use easy for most Z2 sessions up to 2.5hrs.)
- I use ‘hard’ if I have to sit up on those intervals, but I still complete them reasonably.
- I reserve ‘very hard’ and ‘all out’ for races such as 50/100m&12hr TT A races where I am trying not to throw up at the end or have completely and utterly emptied the tank. So if TR is adapting because a workout is rated as “hard”
Is this approach to rating workout difficulty confusing TR somehow, given how it plans to adjust FTP by 2%? I would have expected it to merely give me a slightly easier workout next time.
Overall interesting developments.
