Transporting bikes with different dropouts - prefer to learn from advice instead of experience

I have an older RockyMounts roof top rack which is made for road quick release. I got the StreetRod adapter which can work for either of my bikes BUT it comes with different sleeves for the different sized axles with two little lock screws to keep them in place. My typical usage for the rack is simply taking the bike to the shop down the road so I’m not going on long trips. (at least not lately)

Is there a better solution than switching the sleeve? Is there yet another more convenient adapter I might use to go from 12x100 to 15x110?

Get a second rack. You can then transport both bikes at once.

Use the native QR mount for the QR bike.
Set the Street rod for the thru axle and use that with the thru axle bike.
