I used TR to train for the Mohican 100k in 2025. I did several 4 hour rides and 2 5 hour rides that were not part of the TR plan. I gained confidence that I would be able to finish the race because of the long rides
I have two questions.
1.)Does the new AI look at my result from last year to understand the course metrics such as elevation gain, temperature, gradients, and also my performance on that course such as TSS, riding time, max and avg power.
2.) Do I have to add my own 5 hour rides to the training plan or is there a way to have TR recommend when to do the 5 hour rides and what TSS and IF I should ride?
Hi there! Congrats on finishing that race last year, sounds like a big day on the bike!
TrainerRoad designs your plan based on the energy demands of the specific cycling discipline you select. While TrainerRoad AI sees the event from last year and does take it into account, it is not the driving force behind the design of the plan.
For your event, our recommended discipline is Cross Country Marathon which it looks like you already have selected! Everything looks great!
In regards to scheduling your own long endurance rides, this is now possible with TrainerRoad AI’s dynamic endurance! Check it out in more depth here [Click].
Thanks ScottG! I looked at my plan this morning using the app on android phone. There were no long rides scheduled so I started a new plan today and this plan did have long rides included. I had started the previous plan before the update.
Question:
Is there a way to compare plans?
I had to delete my current plan before the app would allow me to continue. Seems to me it would be beneficial to be able to compare multiple plans and see what fits a person’s needs the best.
