Training Plan - build phase with anaerobic sessions

Started planning my 2024 racing season and as last year I’ve chose the High Volume plan. I already have event dates and they are almost all Rolling courses at around 2 to 3h - 1st race is back end of Feb and it’s a B event (want to start the season strong because it’s a race that suits me - no races before to use as C events).
My main question is around the training sessions I’ve got for the build phase. I have 1 session of anaerobic per week during this phase. Last season I had a similar calendar but very little anaerobic sessions, even on speciality phase. Any idea why is this?

What build and speciality did you have last year, and do you have the same this year? Most of the plans have gotten an update recently, but the amount of anarobic workouts in the plans hasn’t changed (at least for the plans I follow which I expect are similar to yours).

The reason for this is because last year, Plan Builder had you on the Sustained Power Build Phase, whereas this year is starting you off with the General Build Phase, hence the Anaerobic workouts.

However, you’ll see that later in your plan, it will have you do a Sustained Power Build Phase.

I’ll lay out both plan’s phase sequences below:

2023
Short Power Build - High Volume
Criterium - High Volume
General Base - High Volume I
Sustained Power Build - High Volume
Climbing Road Race - High Volume
Sustained Power Build - High Volume
Climbing Road Race - High Volume

2024
General Base - High Volume I
General Build - High Volume
Rolling Road Race - High Volume
Sustained Power Build - High Volume
Climbing Road Race - High Volume

Thanks Caro. That clarifies everything. I was unable to look at the phases I had last year.
