I mean that’s one way to combat the post-workout endorphin high

I only watch stuff when I am doing base endurance miles…anything that requires elevated power / HR / effort then I listen to music.

Forewarning, Dark season two is going to be REALLY hard to watch while training. The cognitive load required to follow it is super intense, especially in season two when they introduce more characters and even more elements to the time loop. Like, definitely take some time to watch it (it is insanely satisfying imo), but maybe use it as part of your cooldown instead. I can’t imagine you’ll be able to follow it very well during sweetspot work.

That said, Amazon has an incredible list of shows to check out, including:

  • Bosch
  • Sneaky Pete
  • The Wire
  • Graceland
  • The Expanse (forgot to add this until I saw @timmah’s post)

The Expanse (3 seasons on Prime)
writing is a cut above, plus lots of spaceships blowing up

Also NBCSports Gold has excellent racing coverage (not free), and RedBull has UCI MTB (free)

Damn. I totally forgot to add The Expanse to my list. Editing my post to add it now. I’m so damn stoked for Season 4 in December!

Oooh thanks for the reminder about Fargo. I’d forgotten I’d saved season 3 for winter training; it’ll keep me company on Virginia x 3 this week!

Oh yes. Absolutely. Positively.

Meh.

Been on my to-watch list for a long while.

You mean a 4th time over?

A repeat that is on my list for this off-season which I have already been through: LOST
Say what you will about how it ended, it’s still some of the best TV. And with 121 48min episodes, you’ve got basically 100 1hr rides sorted out.

If I’m doing VO2 max intervals, I like playing music + watching bike races:

For more endurance / sweet spot work, I watch Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. Besides the shows above:

  • Lucifer - Netflix
  • Taken - Netflix
  • Carnival Row - Amazon
  • Hanna - Amazon
  • Vikings - Amazon

TAA and that corner. :joy:

If you’re a fan of crime/procedurals, Unbelievable on Netflix is disturbing and exceptionally powerful. Follows a teenage rape victim and two female detectives investigating a series of rapes. Turns the world of cop shows upside down by looking at everything from the female perspective. Great writing, acting and directing.

Also, looking forward to F1 Drive to Survive. Gunther is a man manager…

Woh, woh, woh. Easy there. The Wire was good. Very good. I did lose i terest after a couole seasons though.

For best drama I’d have to go Breaking Bad.

Comedies…Fawlty Towers, hands down. Theyre all on youtube, and absolutely wkrth watching.

Much depends on the session though, a lot of the great shows are dialogue heavy so not always easy to focus.

Also, I wouldn’t spoil a great show by watching it on the turbo first!
