Hey @Tom_Pich! Thanks for getting in touch - I went ahead and corrected that 9 minute interval to 7 minutes, great catch! The âRest: 0:00â is a strange one, weâve never seen that happen during an outside workout before. So we can investigate further, what head unit were you using for this ride?
Garmin Edge 520.
I deleted the workout and re-synced with the same instruction at step 7.
Great news, is there any update on when the Outside option will trickle down / across / out to Wahoo. Feeling unloved in the Wahoo eco-system.
I totally get that @JulesC! Unfortunately, I canât give you an ETA of when weâll have Outside Workout integration with Wahoo rolled out. Weâve been working with Wahoo to get the necessary pieces in place to make this feature possible, but itâs still in the works as of right now.
Weâll definitely make an announcement once itâs ready to go!
I did Broken Finger +1 outside the other day and the intervals were quite a bit off (spoiler alert: I have a new Max heart rate now ;-)). You might want to take a look at that workout.
@Nate_Pearson, any news or update on pushing workouts to Wahoo?
A post here and comment on the cast indicates that they have handed off to Wahoo for their part now.
This is correct.
As info, I played Clark today on an 820 and after the 3rd break before the 4th effort, there was no lap key, just went straight in.
i am new here, i am thinking to switch over to TrainerRoad, but one question first, can i send running workouts like the same way to my Forerunner 945 or is this feature only useable with cycling workouts?
or better, are there any structured running workouts with pace zones in the Tri Plans available in TR?
i havenât an account yet!
Yes, the Tri plans include run and swim workouts with prescriptions for pace and such.
No, currently there is not any integration with watches or other devices to perform the run or swim workouts.
Itâs a hole in the TR system for Tri use. They have plans to address them, but they are lower on the priority list than other details and features currently under development.
i donât understand, for my point of view, think there isnât a development necessary, when it works with bike workouts, then running workouts can use the same interface over the Garmin API.
itâs more a work to configure the Tri-Training Plans ( i prefer Duathlon) so Running workouts sent with the correct pace zones out to the API?
Look on Training Peaks, they send over the API all my bike and run workouts!
i take a look on TR since arround a year, but if this isnât possible, then i canât give it a try
would be good for your business, to get more customers, for example:
i pay for Training Peaks Premium, i pay for a Trainings Plan there, i pay Zwift (Training Peaks import works automatically)
when Trainer Road make this things possible, i only have to pay to Trainer Road (thats good for you)!
seems Trainer Road have to change their profiles for hunting developers and so on @ https://trainerroad.recruiterbox.com/
sorry, i am only kidding, but never seen so fucking cool job descriptions ever!
Hey @fl33tStA,
As a fellow multisport athlete I wish we could push the running workouts as well. The reason we canât send running workouts to Garmin is their API doesnât support RPE based targets. All of our run workouts are based on RPE targets, and thus would need a complete overhaul to our entire run structure to support HR or pace targets. Without adding a specific run fitness assessment it would be hard for us to reliably set these targets to give the best possible training experience.
In the future we do have plans to improve things for multisport, but as @mcneese.chad mentioned there are some other things on our roadmap we would like to accomplish first.
thanks a lot for the answer, good to know that the trainings are RPE based (i canât work really with RPE based only), how long you will think i have to wait, 2-3 months, half year or a year?
but i can import Training Peaks workouts (cycling) automatic to Trainerroad, like to Zwift?
We donât have an eta on it right now.
We also donât have an integration where we pull training peaks workouts into trainerroad.
We do have an integration where we push trainerroad workouts to training peaks after you finish them.
Will this work on edge 130?
Even though I am disappointed that triathlon is not a priority (at this time), I appreciate the openness and honesty. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to where all of this is going.
@alexstenerson Unfortunately, the Edge 130 isnât compatible with our Outside Workouts feature. Since it doesnât have the built-in âWorkoutsâ feature like some other Edges have, it doesnât have any way to receive or execute a custom workout
Most Edge series including and above the 200 series are compatible though!
Whatâs the cheapest watch or head unit that will support it?
@alexstenerson your cheapest options are probably the Edge 520 or the Wahoo Bolt, both of which are around $200. Most Garmin smart watches are compatible, but it looks like they all go for >$200
