While using the App on a phone. I’d love to have the calendar page set as the home page rather than the suggested workout for the day/ career page.
Is there a way we could have an option in the preferences?
I never use train now. So literally every time I open the app I have to click away to see the workouts for the week.
My ideas not sure if other folks also would like this. Feedback and Ideas are welcome
What we already have:
These two aspects are already well-covered. However, the next step in making TrainerRoad even better is enhancing Motivation & Progress Tracking.
What i would add:
Motivational Features to Improve Consistency
Consistency is key in endurance training, and while TrainerRoad does a great job providing the workouts, it could further motivate athletes to stay on track. A few ideas to enhance this include:
Consistency Tracker – A simple percentage-based tracker showing how many of the planned workouts an athlete completed in a week or month.
Progress Feedback Messages – A weekly recap message such as:
“Great job! You completed 4 workouts this week, burned X calories, and stuck to your plan. Keep up the momentum!”
Streaks & Milestones – Encouragement for hitting consistency goals (e.g., “3 weeks in a row at 90% adherence!”).
This type of small but regular feedback could help athletes stay engaged and motivated.
Correct me if i am wrong, currently TrainerRoad’s Plan Builder progressively increases only intensity but not the workout time. For example, endurance rides could also progress in duration for those who have more time available.
For example, if an athlete can ride for 1–3 hours on weekends, Plan Builder could automatically increase the duration of endurance rides over time, rather than keeping them fixed.
For those who build their own training schedules, a hybrid option would be useful. Instead of selecting a pre-made plan, users could input workout types and available training time (e.g., VO2max on Tuesday for 1–1.5 hours, Sweet Spot on Thursday for 1 hour, Endurance on Saturday for 2–3 hours, etc.). TrainerRoad’s AI could then:
This would allow users to retain flexibility in their schedules while benefiting from AI-driven progress recommendations.
Keep training
Cheers Guys see you on the Roads soon
I would like to see more things related to nutrition. Like the survey post-workout, one that keeps coming to my mind is having a cell to fill with the amount of carbs consumed during that training. The system does not necessarily use this information but could be used by users only as a centralized notepad instead of noting down this info somewhere (like I’m doing now…)
Normally, I receive a chime/bell before the start of the next WO interval in TR at 3 second mark. Is it possible to change it to say 10 seconds? Am asksing as it would help me increase my cadence appropriately in order to be better prepared (smoother transition) for the next high-intensity interval – say Threshold/VO2Max … especially when the high-intensity interval is relatively short (~1 minute).
I’ll pass this on to the rest of the team!
I’m just wondering (as a PM myself) was it the TR PM’s who asked for all features requests to be merged into as single forum thread or was it a user?
It would make it much easier to review individual forum topics, there is a forum and category specifically related to feature requests so listing them all on a single thread I would perceive as unmanageable and impossible to update/review individual user feedback if something is implemented or added to a release plan.
I have made a couple of improvement requests which have been merged into this thread, which will then just get lost in the noise.
I wouldn’t assume anyone is managing the wishlist through the forum. There’s probably a massive backlog of feature requests that is constantly being evaluated, prioritized, and assigned to various teams for future implementation (or pushed down the backlog/rejected).
NotsoTurboTuppy:
I am not too sure if was merged into “single forum thread.” I just noted that EddieGrinwald decided to pass it on to the team.
As for myself when I posted this question I was simply asking a TR platform question as I am relatively new to TR (2 months of planned TR WO usage).
Hope this helps.
I’m not sure either, I was just highlighting there are 991 (now 992) replies in this thread. If there was any chance of distilling great new product features/ideas from a thread when someone comes back to it later they’re going to have a hard time
You’re bang on. It was more of a thought of it would be a nice thing to do (we do that in our company where customers raise ideas - we try to handle a 360 feedback on new ideas). But yes, you’re right, nobody is really doing that here (and maybe its unrealistic to consider).
We get a lot of feature requests, and we have a special place where they’re shared with the rest of the team outside of the forum. If each one of those requests had its own forum thread or open support ticket, things would likely be much harder to manage (for us at least).
When we release a new feature, we typically publish a new dedicated thread to promote and explain it, which serves as a focused area for questions, concerns, and issues from our athletes that support agents and product managers can easily find and manage.
By placing many requests/suggestions in one thread, it’s also easy for athletes to look through the list (at least recent additions) and comment on ones that they find they’d also enjoy.
We take our user feedback really seriously, and it’s super valuable for us, so while this thread might not be full of TR feedback, we’re pulling these ideas into other spaces for internal discussion. There are probably plenty of our athletes who can point to feedback/suggestions they’ve given us that have been implemented in the product in some fashion.
We do our best to be a transparent company, and we take pride in our relationships with our athletes.
I would really like it if I get a red day (or yellow) and an intense workout is replaced by an endurance workout the day after or next endurance workout becomes intense, Sometimes I end up loosing all my intense workouts for a week if I follow red light green light.
A request I would have is when on desktop when TR asks me to review adaptations it would be great if I could hover or click on the workout it is suggesting I replace and the replacement to see details. It would be nice to know what is changing other than the PL in terms of watts and duration. As it stands we just see the two thumbnails. I’d like to know more about the workout it’s suggesting for me before I accept.
I get the PL tells me if it’s “eaiser” or “harder”, but as an example if its asking me to switch from a 4x8 min SS to a 2x20 SS with a lower target I’d still want to know before I accept. Gotta mentally prepare for those 20 min efforts no matter the target!
A few thoughts from a relatively new user:
Have the calendar view as the default screen on app (or let me chose which one I want)
Adapt a future workout with automation - I.e I only have 45 minutes or weather is hot so it changes automatically and I don’t have to pick a replacement workout
Easier to move deload weeks - sometimes I take a week off due to illness and then it happens to be a deload week after but actually I feel great so can do a harder workout
More flexible workout times
Also anything you can share roadmap wise that you’re working on?
I was discussing red light/yellow light training efforts over the weekend and thought it would be useful if there was a green light as well.
I’m not sure how it would be calculated but since TR has my events in, knows what I’ve done inside (and outside), my HR, my weight and what is coming if it could indicate if I’m on track. Obviously there’s a million factors but could be useful. Especially if you’ve put the event in as a goal but planning to enter closer to the time.
With the TrainNow feature having a great understanding on what PL each athlete is theoretically capable of achieving, I would like to suggest an enhancement to the Progression Level bar chart.
The bar chart currently displays actual PLs achieved. It would be awesome if this chart would contain both the actual PL achieved and theoretical level that TrainNow believes can be obtained,
For example, the VO2 Max bar would have the actual in bright red of say 4.5 and also a theoretical PL in pink of say 6.3.
Great thoughts @swag @firemunki @ToddAMelton!
Thanks for the feedback!
I keep thinking about if a “chartreuse” day was implemented… the color of an almost-ripe lemon: You could do intervals, but have got enough fatigue to make a productive session all-out, but not enough to demand an easy recovery ride.
With some of the downward adaptations I’ve seen, I do wonder if this is already implemented in the back end. Only speculating though…
