Fingers crossed that the TR icon in Hammerhead’s recently posted screenshots for upcoming UX/UI design updates is a sign that TR workouts are coming to the Karoo.
DC Rainmaker Ray seems optimistic.

Lord yes. I’d be verrrry happy to see this.
@Nate_Pearson any update on this. Or is this on Karoo’s side of things. Outdoor workouts are approaching soon and I picked up the Karoo 2 to try out.
This is still on our roadmap for the development team to integrate, but as you can likely guess, much of our energy has been focused on higher priority releases and fixes. That said, the timeline to get more athletes on Adaptive Training and to roll out all our mobile updates isn’t clearly defined based upon any feedback/issues that may arise, so we wont have a timeline for when the roadmap is cleared up a bit for additions like this, either. Apologies we don’t have more info at the moment, thanks for your patience!
Just to back up this request, long time TR user now with a Karoo 2 (to replace my Karoo 1), would really love to be able to do outdoor workouts on the Karoo. At the moment the only way to do it is to export them through Training Peaks (which needs a subscription). I do appreciate that most of the developmental resource will be pointed at adaptive training however.
What I would want to say is how mature the Karoo platform is becoming, it has always had the best screen but the operating system, and sensor integration is now getting to the stage that it is a pretty seamless experience.
Yes please! Would love to see this happen soon!
Anyone have a good workaround on the Karoo 2 until TR and Hammerhead get this working? The only way I currently know is to create all of the TR workouts in Training Peaks. TIA
Side load the android app
I have side loaded TR on Karoo 2. Now how do I use it with maps, etc.? Can I have more than one app running at a time. How do I switch between apps? Do I need to have an internet connection while using TR outdoors? Can I pair my bike power meter to the TR app on my Karoo 2? Not sure where to go from here. Sorry, not very technically inclined.
+1 for this request.
I’d love to switch to the Karoo 2 but can’t until this integration is completed.
Thank you @mcneese.chad for the tag cleanup. My apologies for keeping you so busy this week.
No problems at all. Thanks so much for the contributions
@IvyAudrain just wondered if there was any more visibility around timescales for TR workouts on the Karoo?
Hey! I’ll try to speak more effectively to why its difficult for me to even provide estimated timelines for features like this. The reason being; as these features are developed, introduced in beta, and all the bugs are addressed and worked out, it can be really really quick or take a long time for the feature to be fully incorporated into the app.
Its nearly impossible to foresee what that process will look like (especially related to head unit integration), so the last thing we want to do is provide a timeline that has to keep changing, or lets or athletes down when we don’t end up meet a loosely estimated timeline. We want to do is disappoint our athletes with promises we cant keep, especially with feature requests, so no update at this time. Apologies.
Understood Amy. But I’d just add my voice to those calling for outside workouts on the Karoo 2.
Waiting for an update on this. Since we are a year on now…you would think that being an android OS integration might be a bit more straightforward?
Anyway, it would be nice to know if we can expect outdoor workouts to push to the Karoo2 sometime soon. Thanks so much.
Yes, same here, would really appreciate this implementation.
Just started using TR a couple of weeks ago and I really love the platform. But it would be great if TR and Hammerhead could work together to create a working app as the android sideloaded TR app is buggy as hell.
The native Xert app on my Karoo 2 is awesome, would love to see a TR one as I prefer the TR workouts.
Like a lot of other ppl, when you’re already subscribed to 3+ cycling apps (such as strava/zwift/TR/Xert) it doesn’t make sense to pay for TP just so you can import TR workouts to your head unit! Please make this work.
+1
I decided against Hammerhead K2 and went with Bolt v2 for the sole reason that I want my outside workouts… would have loved to give the K2 a chance
Is this sideloaded? And can it also be used on Outdoor rides, without powermeter? Thanks
