Didn’t see a thread for tdf so started this.
Intervals.icu started a cool dashboard for the tour. It even has download gpx files for the routes if you want to load them on Rouvy or TPV virtual or any platform that allows that.
That really is an impressive dashboard, thanks
Can we make this an talk. I.e. maybe even change the thread to reference . That way we can talk freely and people shouldn’t open the thread if they aren’t caught up?
I was hoping to see a thread going. Stages 1&2 were amazing, and 3/4 also did not disappoint. I had a 3 hr trainer ride Sunday so watched the last 3 hrs of stage 2. Sure made it an enjoyable ride, having no idea of the results.
I have a 90 minute ride from 5:45-7:15 - pacific time, so will probably turn it on, then usually listening through a headphone as it wraps up while I’m at work.
I threw spoilers in the title. But people will need to actually want to discuss stages. Considering I added this post after stage 3 because I couldn’t find an existing thread discussion tdf, I’m not hopeful. 
Tour seems to be off to a good start this year. I personally liked the team time trial to start things off as it quickly started separating the time gaps for teams instead of everyone rolling in for the first few days and sprint bonuses determining yellow.
Format this year was also super exciting with it basically being all GC guys taking the last pull.
Jonas has looked good, but Tadej still has that explosive power he can’t keep up with on the short punchy climbs.
Tomorrow should be a bit more interesting with the first real climb stage, but I don’t think anyone has enough fatigue to really separate things. Heat may be causing issues though.
That rider pulling off the sprint train today on the round about and crashing into the bushes to get out of the way was very funny.

Only yesterday the TNT commentary guy was saying it could be 2 weeks before Traen loses the yellow jersey … I know he had a crash today but I think was already nearly 8 minutes back.
I enjoy seeing Tadej’s attacks on the mountain stages. Very inspiring. There’s also a lot of other “big” categories in the Tour aside from just the GC. I’ll be particularly interested to see if UAE can find a way for Del Torro to beat Jonas and go 1/2.
I find the sprint stages to be the most boring. While there’s a little intermittent action, it’s often like a 3.5-5 hr slog to see a final 30-60 seconds of action.
JV fan here, sadly i can’t see how he will beat pogacar. Not impossible, but close to it. 2025 TT scenario is repeating, stage 5 TT JV lost 1:40 mins, now its 2:40min. Until the end of tdf 2025 difference grew to 4 mins. Sadly we will fight for second place. I am not fan of domination in sports and that pushes me away…also i am not super duper sport fan. I liked F1 and hated it with sebastian vettel 4 championships, than i dont remeber how many wins from Hamilton. It looks like this scenario is happening here. I admire the talent of Pogacar. Same was in NBA-golden state warriors with KD, that seasons watched only finals 
. Last 7-8 years of NBA are actually great, because different team wins each year…want something like that to happen in TDF, but that super human wont allow it

stage 1 was fun.
stage 2 is why I like Pogi, even though in general i tend to not like a dominating force as much as the underdog.
Im behind a couple days so will catch back up during my next trainer ride.
anyone have any predictions on the Femmes?(more interesting in my opinion)

Yeah, after Stage 6 I think my attention will be on who’s the next best young phenom. I find myself rooting against Toro for some reason.
I feel like it’s the UAE machine just mowing everybody down. Would be much more interesting if del toro was a GC on another team.
It’s still early but yeah unless Tadej really breaks down it’s probably over for yellow.
Think the Green and White jersey competition should be interesting but is that enough to keep people engaged in the tour?
The most interesting battle for the rest of this Tour is going to be Lipowitz vs. Evenepoel! I am rooting for Lipowitz!
From an article this morning, “While it’s easy to say that the GC is over, let’s not forget about stage 17 of the 2023 Tour de France. After a number of close battles in the mountains, Pogačar and Vingegaard were separated by less than two minutes in the GC before the 166km stage to Courchevel. The Slovenian cracked that day, losing more than five and a half minutes to Vingegaard in a single stage. At the Tour de France, especially with extreme heat and altitude, we’ve seen time and time again that anything can happen.”
Agree that the heat is the big wildcard this year. After spending 10 summers in Texas, the cumulative impact of back to back heat days can crack you badly. Pogacar is significantly more robust than the 2023 edition, and the heat could just as easily crack Vingegaard, but it does keep some hope alive for a closer battle.
