I prefer the Nicko and Anthony commentary.
Will Peacock have it this year? I’d prefer to use peacock over Flobikes for easy TV usage
Yes, TDF is on Peacock. I have it “free” through my ISP so unfortunately forced to listen to Phil and Bob
i’m probably going to VPN to SBS. they have less ‘features’ on riders etc. compared to peacock when i was comparing them last year.
nothing against the features, but i’d rather just watch the race even if they’re not really doing anything.
But in previous years they also had teh global stream which is what I prefer. Last year they did not so unsure which sub to pay for
I want Vindigar to win for the sake of Drama and how interesting that would be. Like “Hmm dude is not as strong. But if he focuses on one race all year, he can still dominate” (I feel like 2024 was kinda a gimme for Pogi due to Vindigar’s injury’s).
What would be really cool is if Jumbo did something similar to 2022. I am thinking Kuzz and Vindigar. That would bee fun to see them go up against UAE. Easpicaly cause historically Jumbo has had better tactics where UAE really leans on having Pogi. If Jumbo wins, I think something like that is how they do it.
I do not think the others really stand a chance (assuming no huge wrecks) against the two supper teams.
I expect they will do the same as last year, only their heavily produced stream will be available
But…that hasn’t been confirmed yet afaik
How do you watch SBS? I’ve used Nord vpn for a while and typically log into Flo for the Canadian feed with Anthony McRossin - that may be the world feed. But if I remember correctly Mitch Docker may do the broadcast for SBS so I’d like to listen to him, but do I need to download an app or something else ?
Can watch via browser and vpn. Requires a free account. I’ve used this in the past, the app is a hassle to install absent an Australian App Store account so the browser and then casting to my tv was simpler for me
Thank you - browser is preferable to yet another app
It was a couple weeks ago with a tweet from their official account. I had to go back on my personal principles and subscribe to Flo, and use my VPN to access it from Canada. Ant isn’t the greatest, but NBC’s over-produced nonsense is beyond the pale and why they waste so much money on a universally-mocked production is beyond me.
Dang. Flo is $150!!!
Exactly why I’m really no longer watching cycling with the demise of GCN+. Too expensive, too hard (e.g., too many different platforms required), and I really detest the US networks’ cycling coverage.
Same boat. I’m just not interested in the effort
Sadly, same here
late to reply and @pvolb said exactly what i was going to say.
Pog is in my Fantasy TdF team in the work sweep stake. So this tour might be interesting after all. My picks have a habit of not making it to the 2nd week
I tend to watch NBC’s extended highlights on YouTube. It’s still 25-50 minutes and I get to see the action. Generally workouts well for grand tours and the dauphine.
The highlights are good. I do like to watch the beginning to see how the break forms. Who tried and failed and who succeeded. But they never show that in highlights.
I wish they would do more cutaways that involve people like Jens on the back of the bike and the conversations he has with team car people. They could replace the studio team that has the movable fake cyclists with more of this type of thing. Plus some interviews with mechanics, chefs, trainers and all the behind the scenes people would be a lot more interesting.
This. There’s soooo much that could be done to improve cycling coverage:
- Premium subscription with access to real time team radios - teams get a cut if they participate
- Premium real time HR / cadence / power / etc data - teams get a cut if they participate
- Premium feed with every camera, and the viewer chooses which camera(s) to watch - I really hate the cutaways to irrelevant French riders in the tour when the GC riders / break is fighting it out
- Etc
