Totally New Desktop App! 🎉 🎉 🎉

Worked flawlessly on my workout this morning. Great work!! :metal:

Updated this morning (I never used the beta) and looks superb

I was just going to post about this! Bit of a bug bear at the minute, when extending the session at the end (or begining) and want to the increase intensity beyond recovery. It takes awhile to get up there, thankfully, there appears to be no cap, just needs to be quicker please!!

Any word on that eye sore of a title bar, on minimal mode?

@Nate_Pearson

Hi there!

Just so we’re on the same page, the issue that I mentioned in my referenced comment was that that intensity value themselves were jumpy and not fully updating until the up or down arrow key was released. That has been fixed.

I will certainly pass forward your input on wanting the percentage changes to happen more quickly when holding down the arrow keys, though.

As a recommendation, you are able to manually enter a new percentage value by highlighting the old value and typing over it. I have a gif below comparing the speed of holding the arrow keys down, pressing them repeatedly, and manually changing the value - the latter is certainly the fastest option at this time although I do understand that it could be a bit difficult depending on the current intensity of the ride you’re doing.

In regards to minimal mode, I know that we’ve been actively working on getting designs dialed in to get some changes made. We aren’t quite ready yet and I’m not sure of the time frame at this stage, but it’s definitely on our list.

Ah!!! Sorry, should read a little better next time. I noticed I can write over. I did this, and it dropped to zero when on Erg, so, not really ideal. But it’ll do until it’s fixed :+1:

Just watched the gif, that speed increase is infinitely quicker than mine. Looks like I need to be quicker when I type, too :joy:

Just upgraded to the new (iOS) desktop app… great job team, interface is sooo slick!

Moved post to Bug Report thread.

The new update looks fantastic, but I can’t seem to find my devices. I’ve tried switching my Kickr Core off for 30 seconds and restarted the app several times on my desktop. My Wahoo Fitness app picks up my trainer and HR just fine, so it seems to be an issue with the new TR app on my side. Up until today I’ve never had any connection issues. Any suggestions would be great as I would love to get a workout in today and stick to my plan.

Cheers,
Stewart

Hey @stew681

Sorry about that happening. Could you try a few things?

First off, make sure any TrainerRoad programs are closed and deleted off your computer. Open the Activity Monitor and make sure nothing says TrainerRoad.

Then let’s delete app data:

  1. Enter the spotlight search, and type “~/library.”
  2. Open up the “Application Support” folder.
  3. Inside Application Support, you’ll find a folder marked “TrainerRoad.” Delete this folder. Anything else that says TrainerRoad, delete that as well.

Mac has one extra step that’s worth checking.

  1. Navigate back to the Library.
  2. Open the folder called “saved application state.”
  3. Delete the folder named com.TrainerRoad.Mac.savedState
  4. Empty the Trash bin

Finally, press option + shift and click on the Bluetooth icon in your menu. That should give you an option to ‘Debug’ > ‘Reset the Bluetooth module’

Then redownload TR from here: Download the Latest Version of TrainerRoad for Your Device - TrainerRoad

Hope this helps!

Hello.
Before my TR session today the PC (windows version) started to update for the latest desktop version but it got stuck some where in the process and I’ve got to restart the pc. Got to get in the TR desktop but no signal of the devices. Restarted again and they where recognized this time but then I went to the calendar to change the version of today training and two things happened:
1st I can’t see in this new desktop app the shortcut to get me directly to my online calendar to make the change. This was possible before. Why?
2nd after the changes in online calendar after going on Firefox list of favorites to open it… the new plan wasn’t swohed in the desktop app so I got out of the app and got in again and once more the devices where not recognized… Shit! New re-start of the pc and same problems.

Tired of this I decided to get out of the bike and uninstal fully the TR from the pc and then install directly from the website the last windows version. It worked! No more problems in recognizing the devices or the changes made in the plan but I still miss the direct link button to go and work on the online calendar changing the schedule. The pc version is now has the phone version that had also that issue of not having a direct link to online calendar.

Just my feedback on this. Annoyed me a lot today and led to don’t complete full session today due to the time spent in all ofthis.

Hope it’s fixed for good.

Hi Ming,

This worked, so thank you very much!

The desktop is very nice. But I don’t know why it really bugs me that the intervals start and end 2s early. Even though i know it evens out, I feel cheated out of my recovery and my interval. This 2s latency doesn’t happen when I use the app on iPad and iPhone. Any way it can be fixed?

Hi Ming-

I’m having a similar problem as stew681. I’ve performed all the steps above and still no luck. TR finds my Wahoo Kickr just fine, both by ANT+ and Bluetooth- it just won’t pair with it. It pairs with my HR strap, speed and cadence sensors thru ANT+ immediately. My Wahoo iOS app pairs with the Kickr thru bluetooth immediately as well. I’ve updated my Kickr’s firmware as well. Please help.

Thanks,
Rob

Is the KICKR still paired to your iPhone? Make sure it’s not paired to the Wahoo app, TR on your iPhone, or your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings.

If you’re still having trouble, our support team may be able to help out more. support@trainerroad.com

Hi @ming

Unfortunately I have to delete TR and then reinstall every time I use it to see my paired devices. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Stewart

I believe I just saw that on this week’s sprint planning. So it’s up in the priorities and being worked on (either now or soon).

You can also click in and type a new intensity, but I agree it should go up faster. I think there’s also an issue in to improve this.

I’m gonna DM you to get some more details.

Cheers, Nate :ok_hand:

Couldn’t see this anywhere, but is there no video workout option on the new desktop app? Went to do an old video workout today and couldn’t find any way to link up the app to the video as you used to be able to…did I miss something?
