Totally New Desktop App! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ‰

Aha, thanks!

In the minimal view is there a way to zoom in the left window?

This is what I have found as my optimal setup too. Been doing since 2016 and the motivation of moving my little Zwift avatar a bit further on when completing a tough interval just seems so much easier. I would never go back to using TR alone.

late to the party but FYI it works perfeclty fine through VirtualBox

Overall happy with the new desktop app, kudos to the team. Using it (over iOS) especially when wanting to switch between ERG and resistance easily during a workout.

One simple thing to improve is to move the โ€œworkout variationsโ€ button to the top section of a workout. When clicking a workout (instead of loading from the calendar directly) I assume the top use case is to see the workout variations. So not having to scroll down would be a tiny little win @Bryce or @Pete.

Another wish for resistance mode would be to have 2 different settings or slots (you could switch to with different keys or just by iterating through mode like ERG โ†’ resistance 1 โ†’ resistance 2 โ†’ ERG โ€ฆ). My use case is sometimes using resistance mode for intervals but keeping a smooth little gear and not shifting, so with one key switching between hard and easy for intervals would be nice. But I guess that could be a rare edge case.

Thanks for the feedback @rizzi!

Iโ€™ll pass your input onto the team for consideration :+1:

Possibly a silly question but I still have both apps on my desktop, should I be using the standard app or still use the beta app?

TIA

Are there plans to add functionality to the phone app? Itโ€™s a bit annoying that I canโ€™t even add/remove events from my calendar through the app, or do ride analysis, but have go redirect to the website and log in separately to do that.

They are rebuilding the mobile app right now. Itโ€™s been mentioned by TR reps in several posts here (I can search for them). It will include at least some of your requests (calendar control at least, not sure about ride analysis).

As @mcneese.chad mentioned, our Developers are working on a revamped mobile app as we speak .

@Bryce is there a way to set the default Resistance % when switching back and forth between ERG and Resistance?
Currently mine always seems to default to 25% which is far too low to make target power even when in hardest gearing.

The app should automatically remember and retain any changes you make to the Resistance and apply it for the next time. For example, if you change it to 30%, the default value for the next ride should be 30%.

A couple things to try:

  • Ensure that you are on the latest version of the app
  • Try changing your resistance in the Devices Tab. Close and reopen the app to see if that value is retained.

If the value is still not being saved, go ahead and shoot us an email at support@trainerroad.com and we will investigate this potential bug further.

Hi there, im working with the german desktop App. Everything looks great just the comments during the workout are still displayed in english. A friend of mine is fascinated from these trainingplans from Trainerroad but he doesnt understand english at all. When do you think to complete the translations of โ€œcomments and explanationsโ€ in running workouts?

Thatโ€™s a good question for @bnied.

@urs weโ€™re working with a translator now to come up with the best flow for translating all of our content (the long term goal). Currently our priorities are to get all static strings (buttons, app controls), then all workout instructional text, then other dynamic content such as workout descriptions, goals, etc.

Iโ€™m expecting to hear back from our translation provider this week, and should have a better idea how quickly we will be able to proceed then.

What would be really nice is a version of the desktop app that is cut down to only allow workouts created by the user within workout creator, as a one-off purchase.

Not all of us want or need the library of plans or workouts but do want the workout interface and the ability to create our own regimes.

This could do TrainingPeaks and your bike computer.
