for example-THIS WAS THE CARBON/COLOUR RUN GREEN
I already ordered my Tarmac SL7 with DURAC ACE.
It was a very long decision and a I want to share my thoughts.
I originally wanted Sram because:
-newer
-cooler
-style
-12 speed (modern and must be better)
-wireless
However typical I ride hilly roads and events like Ötztaler Radmarathon.
- I do not need the 10 tooth → also I still have 11 speed.
- Its heavier than the Dura Ace
- Its not so fast as the Dura Ace
- Shift gears (under load → uphills) is very harsh and not as smooth as with DA
- Yes sram has smaller jumps between the higher gears. However I need smaler jumps between the climb gears. And if you compare DuraAce 11-30, Ultegra 11-32/ 11-34 on all you have smaler jumps as with Sram 10-33.
It is possible that Sram is better for crit races or TT.
Thats my opinion. And I am sure that Shimano will provide an upgrade solution for old and new DA, because the shitstorm for SRAM was big.
I am also looking to order the tarmac SL7 dura-ace- but again, just didn’t like the colors- which color did you go with?
Tossing up now between buying the Tarmac SL7 or Trek Emonda.

@Lewi88 There are Sworks venge frames available on the Australian Specialized website if you had your heart set on them. (Limited sizing)
non in 58 size
Hi Lewi,
I have ordered the red one. I like the colourway. And I guess we should wait for “real” photos. The leaked photos could be better.
Cool, yes the red version will not be available in australia my dealer said…
Such a dilemma cause if i order now it will come in 2 weeks, but if i wait until its officially launched then order- it will take alot longer with possibility of missing out.
decision decisions
£2750 for the entry roubaix with 105 and crappy wheels? Jesus
That’s the way
I did some quick calcs on the 2021 Roubaix range prices:
Sport +6% @ £2,750
Comp + 3% @ £3,500
Comp Di2 (Currently not announced)
Expert Di2 -11% @ £4,750 (no Rov C38s)
Pro Sram +3% @ £6,600
S-Works Di2 (Currently not announced)
S-Works Sram +11% @ £10,500
Current Roubaix colour options are limited and on the dull side.
Be interesting to see how the Tarmac SL7 compares.
SRAM brakes SUCK
That’s something I would really like to know but if u check above ppl are saying the pro goes 1200€ up for example in the new tarmac.
Some other ppl have said they already booked a bike so they should tell us for how much they gonna get it.
On the top of that someone said the color of the new tarmac are black with some glow stuff, 2 different colors im sure depends on the brand I mean shimano or sram and some other guy said could b in white with 1x sram.
Too many stuff and nothing confirmed yet.
I have ordered a Tarmac SL 7 with DA DI2. List price is 11.499€ (Germany). My dealer gues he will get the first bikes ( 2 bikes and 4 frame sets) at 27 of july or 28 of july.
You are talking about the s-works right?
10.799€ its the price of the current one thats on the website.
Now i only need someone talking about the pro one, cool.
Yep sworks.
Black with red and blue glow is for Tarmac Pro Di2.
I’m sure a lot of companies will blame COVID for the price hikes but I expect in reality, they’re using it as a good excuse to put the prices up knowing most people will find that excuse believable.
Does anyone know if the Reach and Stack on the SL7 are the same as the SL6?
That doesn’t make sense at all - why not wait to see if there’s any defects with the new frame design etc? Surely you can just keep the money in a bank account? Even a 1 or 2% is better…
What do you guys think about the new Roval CLX on the S-Works Tarmac not supporting tubeless? I have been running road tubeless for a couple years now and sure, there is a bit more maintenance, but I believe the benefits far outweigh the extra work required for tubeless.
My Specialized dealer won’t swap out the wheels, so I’m forced to build up from frameset. This is a bummer because every other component on this bike is great.
