Specialty Phase for Mixing Road Races and Crits

I am a 52 your old cat 3 road racer and this is my first year using TRAINERROAD. I mostly race masters and some 3’s.

I’m starting the specialty phase and my first race is hopefully 8 weeks away. I will be bouncing around from crits to rolling road races and one hilly road race (8-12 minute climbs). I was thinking the Rolling Road Race may work for everything.

I was going to do a crit workout on Tuesday, a hill work out on Thursday and the Rolling Road Race workouts on Saturday and Sunday.

Any suggestion on how to approach this?

Hi no input. Wonder how it went I also want to race crits and rolling road race next season but no hilly ones. I worry that the rolling road race doesn’t get the anaerobic system enough.

I’d probably do rolling road race as its more diverse. Its not like picking a specialty will make you incapable of racing the other type. Its easy to overthink these things( I do it all the time) but its easier to give advice than follow your own :joy:.
