Specialized Phase Question

I’m using Trainerroad software (software version: 2025.33.356) running on a window 11 machine. During the specialized phase of my adaptive training training plan I had to take two consecutive weeks off (one due to travel followed by a another week of due to sickness) I noted the two week off on the plan calendar, but my plan was change due to these two week off.

Is this normal during the specialized phase ? Any suggestion of what to do in the future in the specialized phase.

Thanks

Hey there,

Yes, it’s normal for your plan to want to adapt to time off that you’ve entered into your calendar, but it will always ask for permission before making any changes, as shown below.

In our opinion, it doesn’t make sense to keep your same training plan in place if you’re not going to be able to follow along due to travel, illness, injury, etc.

Let me know your thoughts, and if you have any other questions or concerns about this. :slightly_smiling_face:

Eddie,

This is not the behavior I saw during the specialized phase after I updated my calendar. My username is Javi so you can look at the my calendar details, below are the actions I did:

==Travel week modification to Calendar===

So on during Travel entry (July 21-27), I when to the calendar and move the current week down to create an empty week (did this with the idea of extending the plan to account of the week off), the I created the calendar entry call “travel” . After this action I did not see notification you mention or any other indication.

==Sick week modification to Calendar===

So on during Sick week (July 28-August 3), I when to the calendar and move the week current week workout down to create an empty week (did this with the idea of extending the plan to account of the week off), the I created the calendar entry call “Sick” . After this action I did not see notification you mention or any other indication.

My question is is this a software issue, a user issue (the way I when about making modification to the plan calendar) or an issue that is specific to being in the specialized phase of a plan while making calendar modifications.
