Has adaptive training gone screwey?

I needed to add in 3 days to my plan for business travel in just over a week and the new rides AT it has put in from a progression level perspective seem very high compared to where I currently am, is the AI trying to kill me?

It has adapted next weeks rides (before the travel) way too aggressively from what I can see.

[Edit] I deleted the travel and it put the old workouts back so I’ll just move them around - but it seems inserting a ‘time off’ does weird stuff.

Have you seen the Terminator documentary?

From your screen shot it seems like your plan was re-built and plan builder then treats it as starting next week. I think you would have gotten adaptations next week as AT won’t adapt a phase that hasn’t started yet.

I think this is how PB shows that you have made changes to a plan; it shows the start date as effective with the first workout after the change (in this case, a travel notation). If you look at the whole calendar the next phase still starts where it had originally. I was confused by the way it tracks and that’s how support explained it to me (I think )

I can’t offer anything on the specific changes themselves. Seems like when I add in an illness or travel most often TR just skips the planned workouts and picks up with what was already scheduled prior to the notation.

I think you are right. Putting in a 3 days travel ‘time off’ seemed to force a plan recalc. That in itself seems ok, but the progression levels it chose where just nowhere near in line with what I’ve been working and I’m pretty sure I’m not due an FTP change. Maybe when I actually had got to it, it may have re-adjusted them I wouldn’t know unless I left it there.
