The all new Specialized Epic 9 is out. I have yet to see a ride review. Figured I would get the word out so we can start discussing.
So far the only info I have is the Specialized Podcast. I cant even find it on the website.
I found an insta photo of Sophia Gomez’s epic. It looks to have a longer fork and more like a trail bike. Other then that its hard to tell. I have some gusses but im grasping at straws. Wired that the pod would go up before the website updates.
Also yes I know I have no life if this is what I am doing rn.
Update: the YT video has been taken down. So an Epic 9 is coming soon. All I could tell from the podcast video is that it looks to be longer travel. Almost like a Santa Cruz style fram. But the rear shock was tucked up under the top tube more. No good side on. Just a lot of freez frame gusses.
Is it april 1st or 2nd?.. I don’t doubt it’s coming, it’s amazing how well they can keep this stuff under wraps. Some have suggested that any new Epic this year would likely be an evolution/replacement of the outgoing world cup model. “Tucked shock” sounds aligned to that.
Yeah but the video was only 15 seconds old. Plus it wasn’t a 1st look or anything. It was a production podcast that they do. So its for sure coming. When, no clue. Also then why would it be taken down?
I don’t doubt it’s coming, but obviously it isn’t released yet. Cool that you saw a glimpse of them letting a video slip through the cracks before they pulled it back. I have no idea what their process is for posting/publishing content, but it’s very common for companies to let things slip when they think they are testing and accidentally move something to “production”. Might drop later today, might be months from now. It’s not like they produce their marketing package for a new release the day prior to releasing it.
It’s on her Insta. I had to Google it cause I don’t have Insta. Just Google Epic 9. Also, I have the tech knowledge of a 5-year-old. How are you all like quoting 1 specific thing I said?
Video said Epic 9? Was it published by specialized on youtube? I’m surprised nobody actually got it recorded or something, seems like these things once they go out they can never be gobe again
At least cycling shoes last longer than running shoes. Put a certain number of miles on running shoes and they’re done, so much more of a consumable expense.
