Should I replace bearing in my Assioma pedals?

I got these only 4months ago and I can hear little bit of grinding noise on left side when pedal is spinning. Should I get new bearings? Is this normal wear after 4months of riding everyday for 2hours mostly indoor? Strava says 7000km but half is virtual so it’s much less I think Should I use warranty to get new one for free? Thanks

It isn’t easily apparently in the video with headphones on, so hard for me to comment. I’m working with their support now for my <2 month old Duo-Shis which have a fair bit of side-to-side play on the right pedal, along with an audible click, and a really loud noise, akin to a dry and loose bearing, on the left side. They’re quite slow to respond, taking 3-4 days between each response. They’re waiting on me to take the pedals apart, clean and re-grease the spindles, and send them pictures. Will follow up here with next steps after.

I’ve heard a few people say that favero support is a bit slow recently - shame because I had great experience with their support a year or so ago - hopeflully they will get back to that soon.

As for the bearings - they should last loger than that - I’ve had mine 5 years and ridden in all weathers and only replaced them once.

Hard to tell on that video if it is a bearing problem though - do they spin freely with no play? Probably worth stripping it down and inspecting if you are worried.

They really have been very slow to respond, which is a bit frustrating. My partner has a set of Assiomas that she bought 3+ years ago, and they’ve been rock solid. She’s used them inside, outside, in rain, etc, and never have they made a noise. Wonder if their QC is off a bit recently. After watching my video, they admitted that pedals should not make that kind of noise, and to take them apart and inspect them.

You can just open them up and inspect the bearings without damaging the bearings themselves. They’re pretty easy to open. GPLama has a video that covers it.

Yeah they were really slow for me 7 days for a response then another 8 but after I wrote again they said they send me a replaced spindle even though they probably have made more of a fuss becausey pod was badly scuffed.
