Good way to go! Initially investing a bit more will pay off in the long run for sure, and btw if you decide to sell again, a better device/ipad always have quite a good resell value.

The China conspiracy stuff is really overblown.
That said, the Mediapad has lots of problems. I’d stay away. Maybe you can get a deal on a Samsung something, they are well liked, even if it’s a year or two old. TR isn’t that taxing…
