Save or delete partial workout

Lately I have been experiencing problem with coughing, especially with intense workouts. (Am thinking it is EIB based upon reading, but have not yet gone to doctor about it.) Sometimes I can work through it, other times I bail fairly early. Often I have time to make a 2nd attempt later in the day.

My question is whether I should just “discard” the failed attempt. On the one hand, discarding will presumably hide data from the AI and I’ll lose the TSS. OTOH, AI is likely going to over-interpret such failures.

Any thoughts?

I’d say it depends a bit on the type of workout and how far along you made it.

If you put in any reasonable amount of hard work, I’d probably keep it.

If it was an easy workout or you never made it to the hard parts, you probably won’t lose much by discarding it.

For endurance I usually just take a break and then finish in one session. For VO2, I usually pull the plug after 1 or 2 intervals. For threshold, I’ve been bad and quit after one set, but in the future I’ll try to just take a break and lower intensity.

Would it not be better to pick some shorter alternates ?

IMO, Save the partial workout, you did some work, get the credit :+1:
