Anybody have this issue? The freehub doesnt fit flush, the little seal covers it but it should go all the way in. Tophat spacer is inserted and not cracked or bent. Saris says there must be an obstruction but I cant find anything. Freehub fits right in without the tophat spacer.
Is there a pawl in the way? A lot of times when installing freehub bodies you need to take something small like a 2mm hex wrench to push the pawls into place while pushing the freehub body on to get it to seat all the way. Sometimes you’ve got to go around the hub and push on each of them…
Does this make sense?
I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like this might be a pawl that’s in the way. try poking it in and checking for others as you spin the freehub body counterclockwise. Keep some light pressure on the freehub body and it should clunk into place…
Yeah, I have tried that. It goes right in without the tophat spacer.
could you upload some pics of the top hat?
Both in place and on its own could be helpful…
I find that rotating the freehub helps get the pawls to pop into place. In rare cases I’ve had to use a piece of thin stock to assist a pawl into place. When you do it don’t put a lot of force on it as you rotate it. Anyway, seems to work for me and others I’m sure…
Are you missing a seal? I’m away from my trainer right now, but I remember there being a slight offset like this, but the seal covers it.
I have the seal, just not in the picture
I’ll double check when I get home, but I do have a recollection that without the seal it does look a little like it sticks out
