I just want to report that Noxzema has been amazing. I put it on like a chamois cream before trainer rides and my sores have not come back after a couple months of repeat offenders. I don’t even need to treat after with either Noxzema or Vicks. I would if I had something to treat, but this has worked. I suppose that the medicine absorbs and does its thing as a preventative.
+1 for Vicks.
Tried it after reading about it here and it cleared annoying repeated sores in less than a week; applying twice a day in a fairly generous manner.
Slight tingling after applying but far less than Assos euro style chamois cream.
I am glad you guys are discovering what we Hispanics have knows for decades: Vicks cures everything!
Must be like Windex for the Greeks (My Big Fat Greek Wedding)
I wonder what ingredient is doing it for you guys?
Q: What ingredients are in Vicks VapoRub?
A: The active ingredients in Vicks VapoRub are camphor (a cough suppressant and topical analgesic), eucalyptus oil (a cough suppressant) and menthol (a cough suppressant and topical analgesic). The inactive ingredients in Vicks VapoRub include cedarleaf oil, nutmeg oil, petrolatum, thymol and turpentine oil.
Noxema has some of the same stuff:
What are the ingredients in Noxzema?
water. stearic acid. linseed oil. soybean oil. fragrance. gelatin. camphor. menthol.
The camphor and the menthol?
I think in Vicks is the menthol
agree. I think its the menthol. The one thing to consider though is the camphor. It can build up (supposedly), which is why some might not suggest it constantly.
I’m sure I could search ebay, but looking for suggestions or advice for cleat shims here first. I’m sure I’m overthinking it - a shim’s a shim right? And just stick it under the middle of your cleat?
Indoors get lesions from what I assume is rubbing, and it’s almost always on the left-hand side. I don’t get issues outdoors, but can be uncomfortable if an area’s already raw.

You can find a range in retailers like this one:
I had a similar problem and it got really bad for a few week. I managed to keep riding by covering the area with Compeed Blister patched which acted like second skin. I also bought Rido R2 Saddle, ugly and heavy and it took a couple of rides to get the right position but magic for indoor rides.
Shimano make them.
Work well with keo cleats.
