I left Sufferfest before Wahoo took it over so maybe they brought Ant+ back in.
Why not try this Youtube channel if you want to look at climbs. It obviously doesn’t match your speed/power but some the scenery is spectacular. https://www.youtube.com/c/BiketheWorld?app=desktop
Ah you’re talking about in the iOS app, TR doesn’t support this does it ? (it’s hard to get a ant+ adapter working with ios)
No
I have to agree with the latest Zwiftcast episode. This buyout must make TR feel nervous.
thanks - just had a quick look and theres quite a few I’ve ridden before and even a few I’ll be riding for the first time in July. Will try that this morning as I planned a long tempo session
There are a lot of us who don’t like the Sufferfest videos. Zwift/RGT landscapes work for some of those people. I’m one of them.
This seems what the magic route are for - just upload a GPX called ‘Escher stair climb’ and see how it goes?
Not sure I understand.
ANT+ was supported at least since 2019, way before Wahoo stepped in to The Sufferfest.
They stopped supporting it on iOS devices, I expect mainly because ios doesn’t support ant+ and the any+ devices that used to work on the BIG apple connector are no longer available
Does that mean devices like the cable Util ant+ to ble won’t work?
With Systm plus RGT at $129 per year it should definitely make them nervous.
There’s a lot of competition out there now, especially if Zwift put more resources into plans/workouts (or acquire a different training plan company) as a response to Wahoo X.
As covered briefly above, Z is not using Xert to do this. They just do a simple review of 20 minute power and anytime that value multiplied by 0.95 ends up higher than the current FTP value, it offers an update option. Nothing even close to what Xert is doing.
Cool I get that, when I’m on the turbo the more distraction the better, but I was replying to the notiion that now Wahoo own both apps, you HAVE to run them both in order to do a workout
You and I choose to run a seperate app
Or Wahoo will buy Xert too?
Then they are the Leader!
That’s the reason why they use Wahoo X as Name today
I think the $129 price point is good. For me structured workouts in Zwift or RGT don’t really do it for me visually. I guess I prefer group ride, racing , or just less structured rides where the workout is partially forced by the route elevation.
And I do like the TR TrainNow and AI FTP features.
There is no way to create this type of world with a GPX based Magic Road.
Here’s an example of why you couldn’t do this with a Magic Road:
- Imagine there are three climbs, each 100m in height, and the start for lap 1 is at 0 m in elevation
- So at the end of lap 1, you are at 300m in elevation, how with a GPX file do you connect the start at 0m in elevation to the end which is 300m in elevation?
You can… its called a cliff.
You plot a route from the Nepalese Tibet border going east. You’ll be able to generate a 100km GPX that climbs all the way for your magic road.
