Rescheduling a Workout from a Red Day to a Rest Day

I rode hard (outside) today, a “C” event. It triggered a red day for tomorrow, but there was a scheduled endurance ride there and no adaptations were triggered. The next day is a rest day.

What is the best practice? Skip/Delete the endurance workout and rest for two days, or slide the endurance workout forward one day, to what was previously a rest day?

PE is not a good answer for me. I am hard-headed about finishing the drill, even if I put myself in a hole.

Maybe it is worth mentioning: I start Specialty Phase next week.

What is “PE”?

Maybe RPE
Not פ ,ف,

What is “PE”?

Perceived Exertion. I guess TR uses “RPE”.

I would do the same time but choose an easier alternate so it is recovery and then take the scheduled rest day. But I like a super easy spin the next day to get the blood going. That said, if you are thrashed then rest the day after the event. An extra rest day is no biggie.

I woke up this morning (day following the event) and TR had generated an adaptation overnight, removing that endurance workout. Mystery solved.

Yeah, we’ll always recommend resting on red days.

There’s no need to try to make up any work. The point is to catch up on recovery, and trying to make up missed work never works well if you want to keep progressing with your regular schedule. :chart_increasing:
