Pro Cycling Thread 2024

They will all be making a bike change, it is a given.

setup on purpose for a bike change

Since they have a dedicated bike change area with a bike waiting for them, it probably makes sense to change. Only losing a few seconds for the change.

But if it was a situwtion where they had to wait for a bike from the team car, I think it would be questionable.

Kuss just took the lead….he was flying up the climb since he went through one of the earlier checkpoints in about 7th.

Don’t agree with the helmet change though.

that’s 5s lost.

Jeebus…Thomas changed his helmet. If he loses this race by a handful of seconds, you know where to point the Finger of Blame.

G with the helmet change. If he loses by 3-5 seconds then prepare for #HELMETGATE

+2.

Is Thomas going better then, that would have been -2 or -3 without the Helmet change

Ineos have Dan Bigham on the payroll and Puccio did the helmet change earlier, so can guarantee there’s a pretty solid set of data justifying the swap!

And they did all that heat analysis for the hour record.

Apparently it makes a big difference.

Only a blow up or incident can rob G from what I can see.

No so confident now… but still okay

25% WTF

I’m happy either way. As others have said, I’m not a huge Ineos fan but it’s hard not to like G and I’ll always root for the old guys in this era of young gun super stars. I’m a Roglic fan and even if he doesn’t take GC he’s on track to win the stage and that alone I think will go a long way to exercise the demons from Planche de Belles Filles.

PINOT!!!

Wow.

Man, Rog is spinning a really high cadence while G seems to be grinding. Now down 15”……looks like Rog may pull this off.

OH SCHITT…Rog with a mechanical!!!

Caruso now with the stage lead……wow.

I’ll say. What a complete disaster. Didn’t look like he even hit that pothole that hard for the chain to drop.

He may not have hit it that hard, but still a horrible line choice.

That was hard to watch

Thomas looks blown……or they gave him the absolute worst gearing choice.

Now almeida with the fastest time!
