No idea
They want the stage finish bonus seconds?

Maybe there worried

Good move with Yates, but why use the team up all day?

Now we know

Here we go…

Yates didn’t have enough pace to grow the gap.

1v1 to the top. (I doubt Remco can do much to help JV)

Let’s go JV

They are both flying and look pretty good with just under 2km to climb.

What a crowd too.

What a statement from Pog!

Also, I hate the crowds. I’m always nervous watching these stages.

Well that was a fun stage. See ya tomorrow for more.

JV looked to be hurting

That’s a huge time loss

Stages like this I spend more time yelling at the crowd than yelling for the riders  Did you see the person who literally shoved food in Pog’s face???

Yes. Last 1000-1500 meters Pog looked to be in a larger gear and really driving it. Jonas was using a higher cadence, lower gear and looked to be having more difficulty.

I bet POG can pop JV tomorrow. That 35 days of training is impacting him I bet.

We can bet with almost 100% certainty Pog’s gonna try!!

Have to refresh my popcorn supply for tomorrow. This is a flat out fantastic tour.

Aside - Nice ride from Remco. As expected he doesnt have the same climbing legs but the young man is riding a very solid race. I’d say a smart race.

JV definitely struggled in the last 2km…and the pace difference was noticeable in the final 100m. Pog was driving, JV was surviving.

Advantage Pog after today……but still a long way to go. Pog needs to try for a knockout blow tomorrow, IMO.

I fully expected the gap to go out on that flatter section. Pog is a truck (credit to LR) but I was surprised the gap continues to go out when the gradients went up again at the end

Lovely finish today but am I alone in finding yesterday’s stage more exciting overall? I guess I like seeing my GC riders demonstrate skills other than w/kg and having three competent echelon riders on the podium is awesome

Jumbo needs to add some climbing talent this off season

They have them, just sadly not at the TdF this year. Between Kuss, Kruijswijk and Van Baarle they are really missing some key helpers this year. :disappointed:

Any other Matteo Jorgenson fans in da house?! He ain’t chopped liver…

Matteo is riding a fine Tour, and turning himself inside and out for JV, but he is a poor substitute for Kuss, unfortunately.

But I don’t think a stronger team around him would matter much….when it is Mano a Mano, JV is just missing that extra few % points vs. Pog right now

I find all the gc talk boring  But Tadej is highly entertaining, he’s got my vote for GC.

When I think of Sepp, I think of keeping it real:

 reminds me of my college days :joy_cat:

Matteo’s got some cred with me, 1st at Paris-Nice, 1st at Dwars door Vlaanderen, 2nd at Dauphine, raised in Boise :white_check_mark: My only issue is that he prefers wine to beer :-1:
