Pro Cycling 2025

I could see either one of them making it over the Poggio first and then staying away. They’re both climbing incredibly well right now and are so strong on that last flat section.

There would have to be some separation or chaos for that to happen, but given the nature of this race nowadays it is possible!

Barrier for ganna is his descending, he’s going to lose time going down more than up. Might give him a chance to come with speed from behind if others are marking each other

Group dynamics are so great in this race…I’m excited and I can’t even watch this year

Agreed they are both climbing really well…but dunno if they have the explosivity to come over the top solo. Pog and MDVP are gonna attack / counter-attack each other (with a few others tossing in for good measure). I think Ganna and Mads are gonna need to just focus on their pace and not get caught up in the madness.

And that is the beauty of MSR…the last 30km are fantastic as the bunch barrels towards the Poggio and literally anything can happen. Flanders is still my favorite classic overall, but the finale of MSR is hard to beat!!

Top descenders: Pidcock, Mahoric, MVdP?

I think Pidcock s challenge will be his lack of raw horsepower….he is on great form, but just doesn’t have the raw watts to match MDVP or Pog on the Poggio. And it isn’t steep enough or long enough to let his w/kg give him an advantage.

So unless he catches the big favorites watching each other, he’ll need to use his descending skills to catch up (or at least get to the front)

totally agree. but I’d love to see him free and clear on the last descent, even if he gets caught again on the flats. such a joy to watch him carving the turns. very Nibali-esque

I think he is one of or the best descender in the peloton, but I don’t think the descents are long enough for him to a big enough gap. I’m a huge fan of Pidcock and hope I’m wrong.

How about Pogi shows up with a dropper post?

Not good news for the defending champ….

How are cyclists’ chests damaging to the image of the sport? Looked pretty good to me!

Im watching the Milan San Remo. The 1st classic of the year. 180 miles, 41 Fahrenheit, and constant rain. What a race

Women’s race coming to the finale. Can’t wait too see if it plays out like the men’s has recently

Feels like a bunch sprint is more likely to me but I’m not sure why

Thanks to the idiots at discovery Im not able to watch any womens racing anymore… Hope there are decent YouTube Highlights…

Well that sucks, it’s on max in the states…so I’m actually using my VPN to pretend I’m at home for once

Yeah they moved everything to discovery+ but it’s not available here… And I’m not paying 40 bucks for Eurosport2 and a slim chance that some races are actually on…at least the mens is available…

Finish very reminiscent of 2024 men’s version. Pre race favorite chasing down a popular semi outsider in the final km to deliver the sprint for a teammate

TV footage on the descent seems to get better every year, hopefully they improve again by the time the men fly down the hill

Wow, don’t see how this can work out for pog but I love the audacity. Three alone over the cipressa :exploding_head:

Was Pidcock the rider who lost the wheel?

I expected Mvdp to work with him, but given the pain ganna was in I’m surprised he’s giving anything

Surely they’re going to pin pog on the front for the last 3 km into the climb
