Liked the way Jorgensen rode today…rode for the GC and was willing to just burn his rivals off his wheel, except those shooting for the stage win. Too often in today’s racing, the favorites give up if they don’t get an immediate gap. Sometimes you just need to grind them down with the type of effort Jorgensen did today.
How were you able to watch? I know you’re US based and I kept getting errors with Peacock - and it was a Paris Nice error as other Peacock options worked just fine (Dan Patrick show)
I have a FLO subscription and use a VPN to access their Canadian broadcast.
Odd, I tried that as well and selected Canada - Vancouver as location and got the gray screen noting not available, maybe I should have tried others - or my VPN is no good any longer (Surf Shark)
Looks like the crash was worse than initially thought. Jonas might have a broken hand and was hurting for the rest of the stage.
I use NordVPN…not certain what region in Canada I patched into, though.
Thanks! My vpn was set for renewal in April and I just cancelled and purchased Nord for a year. Prior to deleting Surf Shark I logged into Flo Canada and was blocked from viewing Paris Nice highlights, once I logged in with Nord I was able to see them. So apparently something happened with Surf Sharks ability to disguise itself
The Stage 5 replay just showed up on the Peacock web site.
TVL will be all in for Jorgenson now, Vingegaard was a DNS today.
Bit behind on Paris nice, but hearing that VC reported Jonas was not lucid post crash during the race. Anyone know if this is a translation peculiarity?
Just dropping this link here for no particular reason….. ![]()
Let the countdown to the best ~30km of the year begin!!
Excuse me! You need the first ~260k of slowly building up excitement before the proper racing for peak entertainment.
I think every new serious cycling fan watches (or attempts to watch) all of MSR once, and only once
It’s regularly my favorite race of the year and also the one I consistently watch the least of ![]()
is Piddcock racing MSR? that would be my dark horse pick. sticks with the climbs then bombs the descent and stays away
My mate saw him on the Poggio today so I would guess so
He is, and given he was away late last year I’m not sure he qualifies as a dark horse. Think he’s probably on the (long) list of favorites for most of the bookies
Checks out ![]()
Pog an awful pick at those odds imo, too hard for a marked rider to get away in this era of the race
Pederson might be a undervalued opportunity
Still, the winner is almost always deserving and half a surprise
Pederson or Ganna are my picks this year ![]()
Yup…MDVP and Pog mark each other and Ganna solos away on the flats, ala Cancellera, after the Poggio as the two big favorites stare at each other.
Or Mads takes them in a sprint to the line…
I could see either one of them making it over the Poggio first and then staying away. They’re both climbing incredibly well right now and are so strong on that last flat section.
There would have to be some separation or chaos for that to happen, but given the nature of this race nowadays it is possible!
