Priority AI Workouts?

Overall I love the AI updates, massive win even with all the paper cuts.

I wish the AI planning would prioritise my hard workouts and re-run simulations and planning to avoid yellow days on my hard workout days. The problem specifically is when I need to move around dynamic endurance days due to life things. Unfortunately if dynamic endurance lands on a non-yellow day it can assign me 2 or 2.5 hours and generate a yellow day the next day (a hard day). Then the simulation changes my hard workout to an easy one, makes me fresh for… another dynamic endurance. I’ve had a whole week turn into low intensity / endurance because the endurance generates yellows on my hard day.

There is a fix - go to the first day where the model picks wrong and delete the workout. Then re-add it. Sorry I fixed things before getting a screenshot.

Hey @rosswilliams

I took a look at your Calendar, and it looks like you’re not following a training plan and adding workouts manually and then letting the AI Window/Fatigue Management adjust as necessary. This is OK if you’d like to go this route, but I can already see how letting TR build you a custom plan may help with your issues.

  1. When TR builds a custom plan, it recommends the volume it thinks you should be training at. This can potentially fix your issue of having your longer days trigger Yellow Days on interval workouts since you’re stacking back-to-back training days Mon-Saturdays. This kind of creates a pile-on fatigue effect that compromises your interval workouts.
  2. I see you have a B and A Event coming up with no taper weeks or openers the day prior. Letting TR build you a plan towards these events makes sure you’re training not only the correct energy systems, but peaking you and keeping you fresh when it counts.

All that said, if you’d still like to manually apply workouts, I think it would be beneficial to try and see what training vs. recovery pattern our fatigue management system is marking, so you can see what days are better for training or recovering and hit all your workouts with quality instead of quantity. This does require more manual labor on your side, as changing training days (interval vs. endurance) may mean manually changing the other training days to prioritize what you want. The good thing about this, is that with the AI Window you can really play with it when making these changes to see how it affects subsequent training.
