📣⚡️ Power Records is Now Available for All Athletes!⚡️📣

That would be indeed a nice suggestion!

Apologies if I’ve missed this. Is there a way to exclude specific rides from this? I have a handful over the years where my PM broke mid ride and reported some fun numbers.

Like >400w for almost 2 hours in the middle of a 200mile ride. Or a 3000w sprint.

Ideally I’d like the specific record for a given duration to lead to the ride in question if you click on it, then the ability to remove from power records.

This is possible, at least on the desktop. Click on the duration you select on your power record to lock it in - you should then be able to click on a link to take you to the ride in question. From there, edit details, and uncheck the power records box.

The same way is possible on the iOS app but the link to the other workout doesn’t always appear.

I’m digging into this now. I’ll let you know what I hear back from the team.

Thanks @Helvellyn, @wescaine, and @Eibe for bringing this up. :handshake:

It sounds like things are working as intended with NP since it is a lagging metric or “rolling interval.”

I did notice that it looks like in some cases things are slightly off with average power, though, so we’re looking into that now.

Thanks for looking into it.

For clarity, I wasn’t necessarily saying NP was calculated incorrectly, just that the fact that it’s based on a 30sec rolling average makes it less useful for short intervals. Maybe for much longer sets of intervals, but not individual on-off intervals for example.

Hi @SeanHurley

Looking into my power records. Perhaps I’m just not familiar with NP but I find it odd that “The Wringer” zwift workout is my 30min best? it consists of 30s very painfull sprints, but with a lot of recovery. Is this correct?

Yeah. 30 second efforts are brilliant for creating “NP Buster" rides.

If you have good short power you can normalise well over 100% of FTP for an hour’s riding.

It’s another reason why, depending on what sort of training you’re doing, TSS and anything derived from it, should have at least one asterisk attached.

There was a massive controversy a few years ago when it turned out people were winning Zwift races this way. Smash, coast, smash, coast…highest average over time wins.

So basicly to use the “power records” feature, the way its meant to be I should delete such activities?

No need. There’s a toggle you can check/uncheck on every ride to include/exclude that ride from your power records. :+1:

Ahh thanks

I noticed that I often check PR before and after the training. A really nice feature!!
Would be nice to save your views for the next time. I often compare my indoor training with indoor PR’s.

Just another post to ask for a way to filter the power records in a way that is meaningful to the workout being compared. I have an upcoming SS workout with 20 minute intervals, but when looking at the default graph with NP, it’s comparing my 20 minute interval history to a VO2 workout. When I switch it to Power, it’s comparing my upcoming 20 min SS intervals to a previous Threshold workout with 8 minute O/U’s, and showing that the SS intervals are at almost 20 watts higher than my historical record. From that perspective, I’m seriously questioning my ability to complete the workout even though the predicted difficulty is skewed heavily toward Hard to Moderate.

Could you share an image of that PR curve?

Here ya go

It looks, to me, like it’s comparing that workout to Kennedy, an over/under workout.

I feel like this is relevant data, but I could see why you might be interested in comparing only to workouts in the same zone.

Most of the time, I think power is power, though. The lines between SS and threshold begin to blur, especially as your fitness changes.

I’ll let the team know that this is something our athletes want. :+1:

Thanks Eddie. The difference is that the Threshold workout is 8 min O/U’s with a low wattage break between them. The SS is one steady 20 min interval. Not apples to apples. AND, the SS one is considerably higher.

Isn’t that where having both AP and NP comes in handy?

I’m just trying to figure out what’s needed to improve this, so please let me know your thoughts.
