This is a really helpful tool. I’ve found myself wondering, “why is TR AI giving me this workout when the TSS may be same/lower week over week and/or Athlete levels being lower.”
Now i can look at raw watts/NP and see, “Oh it’s trying to progress me at this time specific duration.”
This helps me feel better about differing TSS and/or Athlete Levels week over week.
Hello Sean Hurley and TR team.
I really dig this new feature but with this update did we lose the Season Match feature and ability to compare two different season?
If so and chance that it can be put on the list for it to come back?
Hopefully I wasn’t the only one that used the Season Match feature
Are you on mobile by chance? On desktop, I see multiple boxes to select a date range, and once two or more are selected, the season match checkbox appears. But on mobile, I only see one date range selector (bug?).
And no, you’re not the only one who uses that.
Yep, you’re seeing what I see on mobile. This is what it looks like on desktop when there’s two date ranges selected. SeasonMatch is still there.
It appears to be a display bug where only one date range shows on certain screen sizes.
In fact, when resizing the browser window, there’s few pixels where it shows them stacked, before disappearing. I assume this is how it’s supposed to look.
This is a great addition. Thanks!
I think another good addition alongside the Power/NP would be the progression levels you get for reaching that point of the workout. Ie. If I get to the second rest interval of the 3 set 2hr OU workout, like cloudripper or starlight, what PL acknowledgement would I receive if I failed/stopped at that point.
Thanks again for the recent spate of updates.
Great feature, really helps to understand how the next workout sits against recent performance. Found this very reassuring after AI FTP gave me a 19W increase and had some hard OU workouts scheduled to see that the 10-20min power was just pushing up slightly what I had recently done.
This is cool, I checked this on a Computer and can see it. It’s most likely just then an update or two until it gets to mobile. I can work with that until then. Thanks.
Amazing how a small feature such as this can be so illuminating as to the workout selection / “FTP” rationale. I can’t seem to find an answer on this though, all my workouts are matched to my latest “maximum effort” RPE workout. Shouldn’t workouts that are rated max effort be excluded from the selection formula? Of course it should still be in the power records, it was a PR after all, but if all subsequent workouts are trying to match or slightly exceed a maximum effort NP, that seems like a recipe for disaster, no? Would love some insight. Cheers!
I could be wrong but I don’t believe it will try and match a maximal effort as long as you rated it as such. If you rated it as hard though then it may continue to serve up workouts that improve upon that performance.
Also you proved you can do it so in time with proper recovery that same effort might not be maximal anymore.
I would recommend adding a filter for outdoor VS. Indoor training. For me the values I achieved vary greatly from outdoors to indoors. Thanks for the great work… keep it up
That’s what I thought too, but my workouts rated max effort are there and the recommended workouts look to match or just exceed the NP ranges from those max efforts, again rated appropriately.
I love this feature. This validates the prescribed workout against recent performance.
@eddie @SeanHurley Has this been addressed? I’m seeing the same thing for my Workout Royce tomorrow, which consists of 4 min blocks, but in the graph, that power is only “credited” for 3:30 and then dropping off…
That seems strange to me. Perhaps it is worth opening up a ticket about it if nobody from TR chimes in.
They had this a couple days ago. I think things are still changing quickly. Right now (mobile browser) I see a tickbox for indoor rides only.
I’d find this feature more useful if it were able to match similar workouts with each other. I want to see a threshold workout vs another threshold workout, not just another workout with similar NP. I’m getting VO2max workouts compared with Sweet Spot sessions and that’s just not very useful to me.
